Description
I've had this idea for a while, and I've adored the concept, but I don't think I did it justice. I'll definately work on this more.I'm not sure if anyone can actually see what's going on.. she's growing a tree to climb out and escape the jail or whatever. Yeah.. needs work.
Girl: me. But the photo is avilable at my stock account =AttempteStock [link]
Textures: my own.

I really like this because this image tells me a story about a girl who is trapped, but even stuck in a horrible place .. she tries to create and find beauty around her.
Great work.

I love the concept of this work
Its a awesome image.
The only lil thing that really bugs me is that lil' butterfly
It looks kinda flat and those white pixels around the wings make it look
unnatural paper-ish while the rest of the picture does look natural.

Oh wow, good point. I see so many more flaws in my work now that I have my monitor brighter. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll fix it next time I open that particular file.
Thank you!

This is incredible. I haven't seen i before. I love the lighting effects and the way the green of the plant stands out against the general greyness of the image

this turned out pretty good, but the way the girl is lit seems a little artificial; to me, she doesn't fit in the scenery because of this.

Thank you.. Yeah, that is true, since the lighting is coming from a very different angle in the stock photo.. I guess I could always try to fix it by darkening her to make it look more real... thanks for your comment.

if you want, you can fix it in ps, there is an option which helps you set the angle where the light comes from...
my pleasure

Totally +faved. I love the concept, and all the little details - the butterfly on the wall, the shadow of the tree - everything works wonderfully. Great job, as always, m'dear...

This is definately beautiful. I love the colors, the contrast, the texture, and you also did a great job on the shadows. It adds more of a semblance of realism. One thing I love about your manips are the way that the items placed look like they could be there, but have a sort of sharpness that draw the attention to them. It's not a flaw that catches your eye, it's just the object itself.
At first glance I can see what ~MindFreak0 was saying about the ceilling, but if you look just a little longer you can see there's a natural curvature. I think the background is a good pic for your concept.
Inspiring

Thank you, I'm very glad the shadows turned out alright, and I was surpised how easy it was to make them. Wow, I really didn't know that, I try to make items placed to look like they fit, but I didn't know that I succeeded.
Okay, I tried to fix it in photoshop. I toned down the textures in a few places and added some more shadow. I think it looks better now.
Thanks for everything.

shardinite In reply to DoNotAttempt [2006-02-03 18:24:22 +0000 UTC]
Great adjustments! You can totally see the curvature of the ceilling now. I think it also helps balance out the lighting overall. Seemed a little too dark up there previously. Which is odd since that's one of the largest light sources.

DoNotAttempt In reply to shardinite [2006-02-03 18:38:41 +0000 UTC]
Awesome! The lighting was fine before I added the textures, but since those had lighting of their own, it made the rest of this look weird, but all should be well, now.
Thanks for your feedback!

Excellent. And with explaining what was going on in the description, I didn't mean that I thought people were too stupid to see what was going on.. but you probably knew that.
Thank you so much, your comments are always very encouraging.
