Orkesstra's Weapon.If you're not familiar with who Orkesstra is: [link]
It's only the Blue Moon's side view, but complete elevation illustrations take way too much time to make, plus my freaky computer-matrix brain can extrapolate the 3D form of this weapon from the side elevations shown here anyway.
I didn't shade this piece - I really don't think it needed shading, and probably wouldn't have added a whole lot to the piece anyway.
Annotations are fun but took me the best part of a week to do... of course that might be because I haven't done any page layout design for a while.
I deliberated over the weight of the Blue Moon for a fair amount of time, but I think I came up with a reasonable weight that Orkesstra can reasonably manage (she is, after all, taller and stronger than the average human male).
I've got the hang of the Adobe Illustrator "Basic Graphics" swatches now - I figured out how to dismantle the existing swatch patterns and reconfigure them to my liking, which is nice because it's another step closer to illustrating this STRAY HELIX™ manga thing.
I've also drawn up Orkesstra's combat armour, but I need to annotate that too, so that'll be up in a day or two... probably.
I removed the coralite spike that was positioned at the end of the brass hoop, and replaced it with a brass bolt - I did this because someone pointed out that Orkesstra might injure herself with a spike in that position, and I have to agree. A spike there might also cut through a tether attached to the Blue Moon's brass hoop, so it's better all round really.

A very interesting and diverse weapon, a heavy close range (plus long range when you do the Blue Typhoon) along with a quick short range weapon and long range harpoon weapon.
If I were faced up against this, I'd probably stay my distance when she's using this weapon in the Blue Moon configuration and wait for her to seperate it. Then, I will try to break the weakest of the two halves, the harpoon gun because of the exposed firing pin and compressed air tanks, or even better, get it out of her hand. Then she is open to mid range attacks and long range attacks. Or, if that be the case, heavy armor at close range.
Still, a very well rounded weapon you designed here.

You really thought out absolutely everything in this pic. I can't think of anything to ask that isn't already answered somewhere in the picture... XD I was wondering about its size, but the dimensions are also on the deviation...

Dude, this weapon is, like, amazing. I love the title, 'cuz it's kinda clever. The weapon's design is sleek and kinda intimidating. The double functionality of the weapon adds to it's badassness.

Now this is a weapon which I like. It just looks great (for me it has a Final Fantasy sort of feeling), and it even is useable in different ways. A big two hander, then split up it's a harpoon and a one handed sword; and then her special attack where she throws that whole thing at an enemy, not to mention that it looks like an anchor. This whole thing makes me hnnnnnnnngh, it's just great.
I should also mention your love to the details, small things like the locking pin or clamps, or the writing and the two logos. That is something I wouldn't bother with, but then again I am very bad at weapons or 'unliving' stuff in general, so I shouldn't be comparing it to me haha
It's also nice how you wrote everything down about the weapon, how it's used, how big it is, how it functions and what can be done with it, the used materials; aswell as naming the weapons depending on their form of usage individually.
Great job on this, I'm exited to see more of your work.

Not all shark skin is highly abrasive, I guess "drill shark" skin is more tough and "grippy" than anything else.

No, but according to Gearbox, the head developing company of the game, the randomizer system can make over 17,000,000 combinations of guns.
Everything from electric pistols to rocket-shooting shotguns, incendiary snipers and smgs that shoot multiple bullets per shot.
The system guarantees you will not get bored looking for a better gun!

Coralite is rare, yet she has a good amount to use as ammo? Spoils of war sounds pretty enriching. (Scavenge the battle field after she fights.

The harpoons are normally attached to a cable when they're fired, so she's almost always guaranteed to get them back.
You should definitely work on that weapon of yours though.

Ah, beautiful design, with sharp and brutal contours. The hues of blue and beige work quite well with the idea that most of the casing/components are derived from coral. Not to mention, the functions are all apparent in the layout, something that most would just use text to describe, leaving it up to the viewer's imagination to fill in the blanks.
Speaking of which, your attention to detail is astonishing; the annotations are extensive and nearly overwhelming! (The Warmonger Font for the weapon names are fitting, as well.)
My only question is how exactly one would hold the combined form comfortably with so many razor-sharp edges poking out of the top. It almost seems too easy to stab yourself if you make a single misstep. I suppose the holder (Orkesstra) would be highly trained with it, being her signature weapon, so my point is moot.

You made me aware that the coralite spike that was positioned at the pommel end of the grip could potentially create too many situations where Orkesstra could injure herself...
So I removed the coralite spike and replaced it with a brass bolt that still gives a pleasant taper to the termination at the grip end of the Blue Moon.
So, yeah, the image has changed slightly, and there's a sub-comment explaining the change in the description too.
