Description
Matt finds a clutch of hatched mer-eggs but is unaware that these freshly hatched mer eggs still retain transformative powers. After putting it on his head the magic gets to work quickly, shrinking his body to fit. He probably could've rolled onto his front and wriggled out but when he felt the opening pinching at his legs he reflexively pulled them inside, sealing his fate. The egg then changed and softened his body into the more suitable egg-like proteins and fats needed for a long incubation.Commissioned by degenerator

Not gonna lie, when I first saw this, it creeped me out a little. But now, I'm used to it and think it's interesting.

Must say that is very original and beautiful, although the stupid idea that the boy had to place something like that inside of his head, having that consequence, but I admit that is very tempting, I suppose if they have the enough time passed, I suppose you can use them safety without getting transformed.
But returning to the comic, again, is original, probably is my favourite ones because it has a interesting way of TF AR, having a particular way of do it with used eggs that it has still properties, very good job.

Thanks. It is an unusual trigger for TF and AR, not often used.
The egg casings lose their transformative powers pretty quickly after a merchild has hatched, so these would have to be pretty fresh. How much time after though, I don't know.

I know it is unusual, also had a beautiful aspect and unique, that's the reason of why I wanted to comment it, to give you some support of it, I actually like it.
And don't worry, I know handle with the details could be complicated, maybe I was just being curious about it.

This Merfolk egg idea is so underrated. I've only seen this, Ocean 01, and Ocean 02, all by you.
Maybe get groblek or a similar author to write an extended version of this (Groblek recently did a story with centaur unbirth)?

You having brought their attention to it, I'm sure if they feel inspired enough, they might want to write a little something.

Oh, interesting, I hadnβt seen this one before. Β Thatβs certainly an intriguing twist on AR/unbirth.

If you like this, and having become a Patron, if you scroll back to May 4th 2018 on my Patreon page, you'll find another set of comic sketch WIP's titled 'A Beach Mis-hap' that features another mer-egg in a similar scenario.

I have another sketched comic sequence on patreon, similar to this, in a way. It involves someone getting into a mer-egg.

what this tells me is that the eggs contain a gene rewriting virus that turns any un lucky human to put it on will the turned in to a merman

There are a few similar where a someones character either turns into an egg or age regresses and then is encased in an egg, but not quite like this.
