Description Pendant carved from a small, orange-ish beach pebble (granite, I think; it's quite hard). 1-1/4 inches wide, 1/2 inch thick. Two front views, one back view.

The holes for the cord are just visible at the top of the upper scan; they lead into the round chamber in the back (top of lower scan). From each side, nine holes (three rows of three) go into the large, kidney-shaped chamber (bottom of lower scan). In the middle scan, the first two rows of holes are visible, the third rows are visible at the edges of the lower scan. The centerline hole goes into a small closed chamber that does not connect with anything else, and the two larger chambers do not connect; the chambers all have an inward lip at the top, so they are larger than they appear. About half the volume of the stone has been removed.

It's very hard to see the shape of this one without turning it in your hand....

Cool! Kinda looks like an ocarina!

Looks less like one in real life. If I had an ear for music I would make actual ocarinas, though.

I do sell, and I've been known to very occasionally trade. I'll send you a note.

I can imagine long tendrils of a living thing hanging out of those holes...like a jellyfish=ish organism living inside...

MOLLUSCOELENTERATA

Across the ancient ocean's silent deeps
the shellyfish, with shells aglow, will pass,
like bobbing jack-o-lanterns made of glass,
into the darkness where the great squid sleeps;

like stony stormclouds lightning-lit within
and trailing glinting, lacy veils of rain,
their tendrils sweep the gray abyssal plain,
their carapaces flicker as they spin....

I really like this one. But I would wear it the other way, with the large holes facing out.
What $ would you want for one like this?
