Description Being pro-choice doesn't mean pro-abortion. It means supporting the right to choose. To choose to have an abortion, to choose parenthood, to choose to bring a child into the world rather than dragging it in to a broken family.

People - both women and men - should have the right to choose whether or not they want to be parents. Forcing people who don't want to be parents to become parents puts children in danger of maltreatment, neglect, abuse, starvation, and more.

If a woman wants to keep a pregnancy and a man does not, it's her decision because it's her body, but the man shouldn't have to support a child he never wanted. If a man wants a woman to keep a pregnancy and the woman does not, again, it's her body and her choice, but the man has every right to leave her. If both parents want the pregnancy, congratulations! Now take some parenting courses. If both parents want to terminate the pregnancy, they should have every right to do so.

Whether or not you believe that life begins at conception, the fact of the matter is, a clump of cells is not a person, like an acorn isn't a tree. And it's not your choice what other people decide to do with those clumps of cells. Your religion doesn't get to dictate other people's lives. If you believe they will receive punishment in the afterlife for what they do, sure, fine, believe that, but leave the punishing to God, please.

Don't punish the innocent: the children you want to be born so badly into a home that doesn't want them. Don't force someone into this world only for them to be broken by it at every turn. That's not pro-life. That's pro-birth, and nothing more.

No, it definitely means pro-abortion you can still make the other decisions when killing the baby is off the table.

Thanks for making it "religions & pro-choice" and not "Cristian & pro-choice". People forget there's other religions than Christianity

I guess you mean muslims, but there are also other religions besides those two

I was led to believe Muslims are the people from the middle east that practice the evil religion known as islam, but if that's untrue, sorry.

Islam is not evil actually. But many people who claim to be Muslims read Qur'an wrong. They use the world of Allah in their vile intentions. People like terrorists and rapists in Europe. Killing innocent people and rape are sins in Islam.

I've read the Quaran and I can literally point to the parts where it says rape is ok if muslims do it. The religion is evil, and the ones covering their eyes and desperately yelling "But we're not all crazy!" are the crazy ones. How egotistical do you have to believe that you're so pure and perfect, simply being in a movement makes it good and pure?

It confuses me how anyone who follows the Abrahamic religions or their moral values can condone abortion.

"I like this part of this religion, and I like this part, and I don't like THIS part, so I'll ignore this part, and every other part that doesn't agree with my beliefs. Then I'll pretend this counts as following that religion, and pretend it's evidence of that religion not having a shit percentage too high to follow!"

You can put the baby up for adoption.... Not murder it.
But, I respect you and the fact that you have guts to say whats on your mind!Ā

There are already so many children in the adoption... uh, adoption...situation? (I don't know how to call it in English). They wait forever to be adopted, if at all. Most people look to adopt babies, so the older kids have less and less hope of being adopted. In my opinion, it's better to not bring any more unwanted kids into the world while there are so many who still need homes. If there are less little babies to adopt, those kids have a chance to find homes.

But thank you for your respect! You have my respect, too.

I'm not trying to change your opinion or anything, I respect your opinion, but I just want to say why some people would choose against it:

Adoption can be absolutely terrible. Some children get adopted into families who mistreat them, group homes can be extremely unpleasant to live in, and it can just generally end up being a miserable process. Ā
(These are based on experiences from friends and acquaintances who have been adopted so if anyone else has anything to add or anything I've gotten wrong, feel free to reply with it)Ā

That's why a lot of people feel it's better to end the pregnancy before the child is even able to feel opposed to risking letting it grow up miserable, whether they raise it themselves or they put them up for adoption.Ā

And if every abortion resulted in a child going up for adoption (not saying it would as some would certainly choose to keep them, but this is hypothetical), imagine how many children there are who would never be adopted. Imagine how many of those people would turn into criminals, destroying the lives of others, possibly even ending them when they can actually feel. Sure, there's a chance they could do something great, but after growing up in that kind of setting it's much more likely they'd be unstable individuals.Ā

I know there are definitely some people who only get abortions because they're selfish, but a lot of people do it so that the child doesn't have to suffer. Because they can't afford the child, because they don't have the ability to care for them, because something is wrong with the child...Ā
I personally would never have an abortion unless it was absolutely necessary, but I can definitely understand why some people do, and I support them not bringing more children into the world that need to be taken care of when they can't/don't want to care for it themselves.Ā

Have a good day, sorry if this sounded a little ranty, I'm not upset at all, I just wanted to explain things properly. Ā
