Things I was trying to improve:1. Add more definition to the focal point
2. Use less midtones
3. Have less muddy values
Sorry for the unfinished parts. I decided to let it rest for a day but then I just lost interest. So I'm posting it as is.

Shame you lost interest because it's good and I'd love to have seen the finished picture. It also looks good the way it is - a bit blurry - and makes you focus on the eyes. Well done. I like it.
