Description Okay, so I (almost) promise this is the end of my Lisa spamming (for now at least...). I just had to put in this picture, because it was the photographer's favorite from the set. No way I can not include it.
Photo taken by the fantastic Kungfufish. More of his work can be found here: [link]
He was amazing to work with. Had some amazing ideas, and helped me with my posing (it's quite difficult to look petrified when the only thing you're actually looking at is a white wall...). That shoot was a blast!

Myself as Lisa Garland from Silent Hill (movie version).
Taken at Animazement 2012 by Kungfufish.

your make-up really is amazing. Also it's awesome to see the different effects those lenses create

Thanks! Yeah, I really like watching to see how the contacts will turn out, based on the camera, lighting, and photographer. They look just a little different every time.

I remember seeing you at Az, I thought your cosplay was one of the best ones I saw at the convention! I was with my sister because that was her first convention and I remember sitting next to you outside! Nice shot btw!!!

Oh thanks! That means so much! You should have introduced yourself. I hope you and your sister enjoyed the con. I love AZ.
And thanks! The photographer did such a great job all around.

Understandable. I would love that! I never quite know my convention schedule, but I'm pretty much always at Animazement and Ichibancon. It would be great to really meet you. Goodness, you must be quite the multitasker.
You're very welcome! It's a nice group.

Yeah that would be nice Me neither, there's no way I could go out of state cons Well I haven't been modeling because I have been suffering from many illnesses for a very long time and I can't go back until I get better. My cosplay has been a little behind also for a while. I mainly focus on photography now when I feel well enough

Ah. Gotcha. Sorry you've been having health issues. Glad you still have photography. Maybe pick an easy cosplay project to work on when you're feeling up to it?

Oh thanks very much! The photographer did such a good job. And thanks for the makeup compliment. It took about 3.5 hours to complete, and was sooo much fun to do.

Okay, my first look at any of your work. That piece is really quite freaky. I love the contacts and what they do to your eyes (or was it digitally edited?) And the blood and lighting really adds to the effect.

I guess it's not related to the work, but you have a good figure, too.

donttouchmymilk In reply to klamation [2012-06-22 22:34:26 +0000 UTC]

Thanks so much! Yes,those are contacts. With the exception of any minor edits he may have made (I know basically nothing about photo editing), it was all lighting. The makeup took about 3.5 hours to put on.
Thanks very much for the figure comment. I've actually recently lost about 25 pounds, so that makes me feel extra good!

Oh wow, congrats! Losing 25 pounds is no small achievement, so I'm really happy for you!

I don't really understand lighting and stuff, either. But I know when good artists are good with it, ya know?

Thanks very much! It was a lot of work, and I'm not done yet. But it's totally worth it.
Yeah, he did such a wonderful job with the photoshoot. With just a couple of lights, he turned a very well-lit hallway into a very creepy place.

How much more before you meet your goal? I'm sure it'll be worth it, like you said.

Aw, if you do that, you might be too skinny.

Good luck, though! Are you working out to do this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

donttouchmymilk In reply to klamation [2012-06-23 16:00:30 +0000 UTC]

Haha. Nah, that's not an issue. I'm currently 152. Don't think 137 will make me too skinny.
But thanks! Yeah, I started working out 3-5 days a week around mid January. Usually meant 3 classes, and one personal training each week. I would workout at home too if I had time (and the energy!). To help move things along, I went pescetarian (vegetarian who also eats fish) at the beginning of March. It's been great. Just recently switched to doing crossfit. Very tough and intense, but I thing it will be great!

That's a really impressive workout regimen. I've wanted to do something like that for some time, but have issues getting motivated to go all the time. I guess that's what a personal trainer does for you, huh?

Good luck on the goal. I'm sure it'll be great to reach it.

donttouchmymilk In reply to klamation [2012-06-23 17:12:56 +0000 UTC]

Haha. Yeah, it was definitely tough to get into. I started going with my sister so I would have someone to be accountable to. Definitely helps to go with someone. Hard to say "I don't feel like working out today" when you now you'll have to tell someone that's your excuse. Haha.
Thanks so much. And good luck to you too. Having a set of goals definitely helps. What helped me was working in 5 pound incrimates. Every time I lost five pounds I'd reward myself with a new blouse or something. When I lost 20 I walked around with a 20 pound bag of cat food to remind me how far I'd come. It sounds silly, but it works.

klamation In reply to donttouchmymilk [2012-06-23 17:30:57 +0000 UTC]

That's a good idea, really. I don't have anyone willing to go to the gym with me, so it's all me or nothing. But the milestone rewards are a great concept. Maybe if I rewarded myself with a giant Snickers bar...

Wait, that probably ruins the point.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

donttouchmymilk In reply to klamation [2012-06-23 20:13:23 +0000 UTC]

Haha. yeah, giant snicker's bar may defeat the purpose. But a food reward isn't always a bad idea. Lose 10 pounds, go out to a nice restaurant with some friends and get what you want. Just make sure you do it at those bigger goals. Lose 1 pound, eat a double cheeseburger isn't really going to cut it. You can do it! It's tough, but once you really get going, the motivation just sort of comes with it.

klamation In reply to donttouchmymilk [2012-06-23 20:52:43 +0000 UTC]

Haha, yes, the Snickers might not be a good idea. My original plan was when I got to my 20 pound mark, I'd go to the Chinese Buffet as a splurge. I know, seems ironic, but I haven't been there in years.

Thanks for the encouragement, though! Really, you have done an excellent job yourself.

donttouchmymilk In reply to klamation [2012-06-23 21:00:58 +0000 UTC]

Hey, whatever works for you, do it! If it's not something you really see as reward, you won't have the motivation to reach that goal. My first big goal was 25 pounds by Animazement in May, which I did. My next goal is the rest of the weight by a convention in January.

No problem! Just stick to it, and you'll reach your goals! You can do it!
