Description
Hit download to view the instructions. I'm switching to doing things as PDFs instead of images. This was designed for the August monthly folding challenge here: [link] to prove the step count. It's a bit of a sharp contrast to the crab "instructions" (if they can even be called that) that I'm working on. This one is one step per figure, but the crab is more like fifty billion steps per figure.
Usage Policy
This is a very simple design, so I would expect that other people have happened across similar to nearly identical patterns. However, I did develop this myself without any similar-looking references. If you follow this tutorial to create a simple scorpion and wish to post the result as artwork either here or elsewhere, please credit the design you used to create the model.

EDIT: EEeghhhhh uploaded the wrong version of the instructions that had some word salads in it. Fixed now I hope.

I don't really understand what caused the problem here. If you didn't download the instructions, you won't have seen the 3-page pdf containing all of the diagrams that are in the exact same format as my other tutorials that used long skinny images. The download file (pdf instructions) and the preview image are not the same, and the pdf instructions will not show up just by doing a fullview.

Nice! even i could follow it for the most part. (and that's saying something. i got down to "asymmetrical squash fold" but yeah, i don't know what that is. i always want to get into origami but i don't know the names of the folds. never found a good place to learn them.

Some people call that step a swivel fold. The reason I stay away from that term is that it seems to gets used for other types of folds too, which can get even more confusing.
These might help:
[link] - shows intermediate steps
[link] - best match for the one in my figures and has the creases better labeled.
