Reference to the Doctor Who episode "Blink." ( and a blatant blind joke lulz)...What would happen if Toph met one of those weeping angel things, anyways...?

actually she shouldn't be able to stop them via earthbending because it was mentioned that they only take a form of stone when they are being observed.

Would sensing it count as seeing? even if it doesn't she could still "look directly at it" to trigger it's natural instincts(shown in doctor who episode). Also, if she doesn't manage to stop the angel by looking at it she can still kill it quickly with earthbending because it's not invulnerable at those points.Β

A really late comment, and it's probably been proposed before, but couldn't Toph just stop them via earthbending? Of course, that's assuming the angels actually are made of stone when mobile and don't simply make themselves stone when seen. Then again, Toph "sees" everything that's on the ground around her, meaning that technically she might actually have an advantage over the angels that few others do.

As long as the weeping angel believed Toph was looking at it, it would remain stone. So, all Toph has to do is act normal and don't blink.

When you don't look at them, the exist in a quantum state... which means both that Toph can't touch them (because they *technically* aren't moving) and can't bend them, because they aren't made of stone...

That's a tough one. Toph would probably win, simply becasue she may be able to trick the angel into THINKING she can see it (and I mean "see" by the way people without vision problems see) before earthbending it into oblivion.

She would still see it moving, it wouldn't stop the angel, but Toph could still put it in a nice solid stone box until someone came along who could see it. and then... she bends a weeping Angel.
