Iolite.. didn't understand what corruption was. Iolite didn't understand what emotions were. Iolite didn't know much, because she was a younger kindergarten gem.
Iolite didn't understand what was so special about him, and Iolite didn't understand why she felt like he had taken him away from her.
Iolite stopped visiting her... but they kept leaving her cool Earth trinkets. They didn't want her to see the things growing on her face anyhow.
Iolite understood one thing.
They wanted him gone.

My entry for a gem corruption contest!
This follows the story AU in which Iolite meets Diamond's special gem, and their feelings are never confronted on the matter. Since Iolite never learned much about gems, they wouldn't really know to ask for help as their form and mental stability descended in the emotional wake of the emotional turmoil. Rather instead she'd let herself fall apart and come back with a grudge.
Meanwhile! The Oil Crow as a cool corruption in on itself. Corrupted, Iolite is a hoarder, stashing different shiny or interesting Earthly objects as originally she'd show Diamond all kinds of strange things. The Crow is vengeful, envious, and bitter despite what low level intelligence is has left.
