Generally I don't post entire series of photos in my gallery on DA. It also occurs to me that this entire set will probably be lost on the bulk of viewers trawling for nudy pics. So be it."Because I Love You" is a series of photos that explores the darker side of passion, and all the emotion that ultimately drives us to commit self destructive acts in the name of love. It is also an evolution of sorts in my work, attempting to grasp something elusive through the lens. On a technical level it is extremely basic, even a step back from the polish I prefer in my imagery. But this is not about making pretty pictures. It's about capturing something that lies within all of us, however we choose to express it.
Raichel, the model in this series, brought something deep and personal to every shot. The tears and pain are real.

even though i have one picture of cutting on my images it's fake and i should think that people who cut should seek help because it is a bad addiction, you shouldnt post picture's like that.
im saying seek help because i used to cut and its really not that good, so i reckon you should stop posting self harm pics to deal with it and deal with it by seeking professional help... it is also stupid to post those sorts of pics, because self harm is SERIOUS not something that your portraying it to be which is cutting because you want attention or feel like it, and dont say you dont want attention because you DID post it on here to get people to write comments.

I like how you show life as it is and people as we really are...not as we are SUPPOSED to be..that's ART...NOT DRAWING in the lines...but as we SEE it in our minds....Thank you for that...we should always keep ART uncensored..it's the last thing that will be true art then...

i didnt read all the comments but i like this pic agreat deal. im not emo but i cut, i cut when im in pain from things in my life, it helps me get my mind off of things like worrying and wanting to kill myself...nothing wroong just getting a lil pain out and angr out but giving yoruself a few harmless cuts on the arm/leg/hip/belly where ever your lil heart disires.

It's something I have never done myself, though I feel the pain, and know what it's like not to have a way to set it free. Don't cut too deep. All pain is fleeting, in time. Take what you feel and put it into your art. . .

i think it's ironic how you complain about people trawling for nudy pics when you yourself are contributing to the destruction of deviantART by posting more of this emo/self-harm unoriginal work that DA is already flooded with.

I really agree with your oppinion on this subject, and I think that people shouldn't complain about people being "emo" just because they post this kind of pictures or are self-harming. i didn't say it wasn't a true problem. if anyone is exploiting self-harm it's the kids who post these stupid pictures of it every day just so they can get a tiny bit of attention online.

It's worse for people trying to stop, like putting a bottle of liquor in front of a recovering alcoholic. That should be the reason for using discretion in posting this sort of subject, not because one dislikes the attention-seeking behavior of others.

DA is being destroyd ? In my oppinion destruction comes from within oneself. Ironicly this is what this picture portray's. And i do have to add this series is one of the best of the self harm pictures i have seen on DA .... so far. Besides there are a million Photo's on DA that has been done a million times by a million other artists - just a thought . . .
