Description
HARDLIGHT is an Anodite transformation from planet Anodyne. This is one of Edward's first transformations and a member of his first playlist, most precisely the fourth alien he transformed into.

Origins: The name Hardlight was inspired from Green Lantern's hard light constructions, which are very similar to the ones used by Anodites.

DNA Source: The DNA source of this transformation is unknown.

Appearance: His appearance resembles Edward's body in a classic Anodite form with glowing purple body and glowing pink hair. The Omnitrix symbol is located on his chest.

Powers:
- Mana Manipulation and Energy Control: Hardlight can create energy blasts, shields and barriers out of Mana. He can also heal people with this ability. His Mana makes him naturally predisposed to have an incredible aptitude for magic, though he must learn a spell and how to cast it before trying it.

Weaknesses:
- Energy Draining: Hardlight can be completely drained of his energy by certain beings.
- Vulnerability to Magic: Even though Hardlight is made of Mana, an energy that functions as the base and fuel to magic, he is not inmune to magical attacks.
- Ledgerdomainian Dracaris: The Ledgerdomainian Dracaris such as Mage Hunter have special abilities that make them almost perfect to track down and consume Anodites, to the point of being considered their natural predators.

Commentary: I wanted to give Edward an Anodite transformation for it is not only something the fans have wished to see but because the reasons behind Ben not being able to transform into one contradict the very existence of various transformations. For example, the main argument made by the writers is because they are PURE ENERGY beings (not beings made of pure magic like a lot of people think, yes, they have a great magical potential because of being made of Mana, but that doesn't mean they are made of magic, sorta like Charmcaster), and therefore don't have DNA, but they also say that he CAN TOTALLY have a Dagon transformation, and Dagon himself stated that he was literally made of PURE POWER, ergo, PURE ENERGY, ando so many other examples of abstract concepts of life like ECHO ECHO and FEEDBACK, with one being LITERAL LIVING SOUND WAVES inside a silicon suit, and the other one being ELECTRICITY inside a containment suit, or GHOSTFREAK whose species has no Mana, which is life energy SUPPOSEDLY inside EVERY living being, and still they are ALIVE and Ben can transform into him. Seemingly purely mechanical or inorganic beings like UPGRADE, ATOMIX or CLOCKWORK, MULTI-DIMENSIONAL beings like Celestialsapiens and Naljians also push very further what the limitations of what counts as DNA are. The Omnitrix created NANOMECH, a hybrid transformation by combining Ben's DNA with the data scanned from the Chips, another sentient purely inorganic artificial yet alive organisms. It was also confirmed that Ben is one-quarter Anodite, he just didn't inherit the powers, and Anodites have a somewhat genetic material called "THE SPARK", which is passed down through the generations of their offspring. The only logical explanation as to why they never gave Ben an Anodite transformation, was not to make Gwen basically redundant. So yeah, those are the arguments of why I, in MY PERSONAL OPINION, think that the Omnitrix is completely capable of having an Anodite transformation, and why I gave one to Edward.
