Description PALEOFAUNA OF VENEZUELA. The first carnivorous dinosaur in the country. More information: @jp.sitev www.instagram.com/eldinogerard… www.instagram.com/jp.sitev/ www.facebook.com/gerardoramon.… Clarifications: The discovery and official information about this species dates back to 2014. Current research could sometimes change. But they have the solid support of national and international paleontologists. Discovered in the Venezuelan Andes region, by a team of international and IVIC experts, led by Ascanio D. Rincón and Andrés Solórzano. The Tachiraptor admirabilis was a type of theropod dinosaur that lived at the beginning of the Jurassic period (Hettanguian), near what is now the city of La Grita, (famous for the church of Santo Cristo de la Grita), Táchira state. The fossil consists mainly of a right tibia and a left ischium, added to dental samples (possibly from the same animal). Despite its name (Admirable Raptor of Táchira), it is not related to the dromaeosaurs (raptors), since the material and said comparative elements relate the Tachiraptor in the same phylogeny of the Neotheropods, such as the famous Dilophosaurus and Cryolophosaurus, of which They are believed to have preceded it, which is why it is considered a "possible basal dilophosaurus". It was a predatory dinosaur somewhat longer than a modern dog, which based on comparative anatomy is speculated to have measured between one and a half meters and about 2 meters long. It will probably live alone or in very small groups and use its agility to hunt small animals or other dinosaurs similar to the famous Laquintasaura venezuelae. #originalresearch : Dr. Ascanio D.
