Progress on my SHIN GHIDORAH concept. Still working out areas, making changes, trying things out. It may change completely over time. I just wanted to capture the mood with a few atmospheric renders. I'll finesse details once the concept is finalized.zBrush.

It just occurred to me, what if SHIN GHIDORAH is next evolution of SHIN GODZILLA?
Just think, in the movie they said godzilla is trying to grow wings.

A wonderful design. You've got me thinking, I know you had the idea of this existing in place of Shin G, since Shin Godzilla is collective entity who's cells can grown and take on a life of their own when separated from his body a creature like this version of Ghidorah could be born from his blood or the dorsal spine he lost in the movie.

Compared to this guy, Shin Gojira would be the lesser evil. I actually see him budding, creating additional Ghidorahs at one point.

Yea there's a few heads budding, and arms growing too, but it's all pretty obscured by the darkness of the render. I'll be posting more images tho.

I can't express enough how much I love the overall form of this piece. It feels.....larger than life, imposing, like a storm of ginormous proportions. Do you know what I mean? All the bits jutting out feel like lightning strikes that have taken actual form. The umbrella of wings is very intimidating and I can totally see them animated. In a word this feels "Ferocious". Very very cool Dope.

Ha. On the one hand, I wish there was NO TALKING, just monsters all the time. On the other, the talking scenes were quite good, and at times funny, but there was just too much. Combined with the fact it was subtitled, and I wanted to look at the movie, not read so much. But again, def worth a watch.

Maybe the maw can split and open up like one of those four-jawed monsters, for extra unearthly feel. Don't know how to describe it, but imagine four flaps, each at 90 degrees angle from each other, connected by tissue, each with its own set of teeth, maybe with its own pair of malformed eyes...

The design is amazing, but the colors are meh. I'd keep him golden, the charcoal gray color was always Godzilla's

It's not really what I was going for. I don't feel the dark and dreary 'SHIN' feel works with bright shiny gold. I am considering that the gold scales come through once this horrific mess of a mutation takes is ultimate final form tho, which would be the Golden Ghidorah we all know and love.

Perhaps go with a more Kaiser Ghidorah colorscheme to fit that tone?

Well why not have this version evolve with his scales? This would be the color scheme of the first form, while the second form would have a bronze-ish tone, a desaturated yellow, where the gray is fading and the gold is coming through, but just enough to have a dark and foreboding foreshadowing towards his last look. (Also side note, do you think you think a "ShinGigan" could be made? I love Gigan so much and it'd fit perfectly with Ghidorah

The idea wasn't that he was injected with Godzilla's DNA, tho that's cool too. My idea is that SHIN GODZILLA never existed. Just SHIN GHIDORAH. So, all those ideas are just being applied to Ghidorah. As if Ghidorah's original is now Shin Godzilla's origin and Shin Godzilla doesn't exist. That was my idea for the exercise tho. Just for myself.

I love all of the different components, the spikes, the tail, the heads, the wings! All resemble the ideas of Anno!!!! Also... "concept development"? What else d oyou plan to add?
