Okay I honestly don't know anything about Green Lantern or DC in general... but this piece? Is amazing?? Like I could see the struggle immediately, it's so atmospheric and there's so much movement! Feels like you could slap a monologue on this and it's a legit full-page comic panel. So incredible!!

I really love this! Is this like a part of one of the comics? I'm not too informed on Green Lanterns backstory with Parallax tbh but this looks super interesting OoO

Thank you!! No it's not really any specific part, although it is inspired by the 2004 GL Rebirth story where Hal breaks free from Parallax's possession. If you're interested in more Parallax stuff I could rec some stuff to read ^^

Hmm Emerald Twilight is the big story where Hal went evil after his home city got destroyed by Mongul, it's some emotional stuff. He then spends the 90's as the villain Parallax and Kyle Rayner takes his place as the last Green Lantern, I think Zero Hour is one event where he's the main bad guy and tries to rewrite reality, but I haven't actually read it bc it's got lots of other heroes and I'm not that well versed on other DC characters yet? If you're interested in seeing more of Hal as a villain I think he appears in some of Kyle's run but I don't know what issues exactly
Final Night is the story where Parallax sacrifices himself to save the Earth, but again that's more of a Justice League story at first. His soul actually bonds to the Spectre later so he's still around but more like a ghost :'P
Green Lantern Rebirth (the 2004 one) is super important bc it introduces the retcon that Parallax was actually the parasite physical embodiment of fear, the GL's greatest weakness, and was influencing Hal this whole time. It basically serves as his big return to being a hero and sets up Geoff John's Green Lantern run, which I'd actually recommend in its entirety (or at least until Blackest Night) if you ever have the time bc it's just so much fun! There's lots of stories with Hal dealing with the aftermath of the Parallax fiasco and introduces all the other lantern corps of the emotional spectrum. My favourite story from that would have to be Sinestro Corps War, where Parallax makes a return
