If you want to make one i recommend you to start with something simple, like spriteswaps

It would be a good start but i still not sure because i only use that is something for free such as MS paint and Beneton movie gifs which uses only 5 frames per second. I don't want my computer to cause viruses. don't get me wrong I still wanna make a fully flesh MUGEN character but that's might be in a far future or never.

Someone should use these for M.U.G.E.N characters.

It's not a question it's a statement.
DeviantArt, the site we're discussing this on, supports transparency, the state of being transparent.

I recommend Aseprite, GIMP or Paint.NET if you want to change from whatever outdated software you're currently using that doesn't support transparency.

You can compile the source code of Aseprite for free but don't bother it's a hassle. What doesn't show up? What operating system do you have Windows or Linux?

Ok so without installing anything, you can make your backgrounds better by making them less saturated, use a color with 80 saturation or less. You can do so by changing the Sat: setting when you Edit Colors in Paint if you're using it.
