Description Terribly original title, wouldn't you agree? Oh, wait, what? You didn't think I'd participate in this shindig? Well, that makes two of us. To be honest, I haven't found any of my work worthy of my main gallery for a long time now. Despite the fact the older pages of my gallery are full of the ugliest sketch shit you ever saw =/. Anyway. I have decided to take part in the 100 Theme Challenge, too...So sue me. I don't know if I will get five into it, I don't know if I'll get FIFTY into it. Or who knows, maybe I'll even get to 100. Yeah, in, like, a hundred fucking years, perhaps e_e;. So, right. Somehow I managed to conjure an introduction image. But yes. This is not a race for me. I am not competing against any of my friends. I am doing this solely for the following reasons: to see how far I come if I can accomplish 100; how much I improve, to commit to doing a certain topic(even if I bend said topic every damn way,) and in general, just a challenge. I am going to challenge myself with different postures and positions and different topics, if I can. And...uh...that's about it. Ah, right, and before I forget, unless I produce a pencil drawing I am DAMN proud of, whatever I cough up with inking or coloring or both will be in my main gallery. Especially if I dedicate so much time. Even if I hate it. If I really tried...It'll be here. Because this is a quest for improvement, of sorts.

Oh, and one more thing. I'm not at all good at taking critique. You're all going to make me cry, BUT I want to improve, so guess what? Critique this bitch. Critique this fucking whore. Because I need tips and I need help, and I need to quit being such a fucking baby. RIGHT. For the first time, I'm going to say advanced critique is encouraged. u_u

So, onto the picture. Y'know, I was very pleased with the sketch. But as usual, the minute I picked up an inking pen(a uniball or something borrowed from a pal called Kristin,) I condemned the poor innocent sketch to hell. I worsened that hell by deciding to pick up my markers and colored pencils and coloring the poor darling. I FURTHER ruined it by trying to incorporate wrinkles through usage of colored pencils. I then tried to shade. It never works out the way I want it to. I know what I screwed up on, and I'm sure you see it, too. I did this without a pose reference, or a reference for any of it.

Okay, now. So how is this introduction? Because there's a reason Doro's leaning on a sign. Doro is indicating what you will mainly see in these 100 themes I submit. I am a MAJOR fan of a not-quite-couple in my RP(Maru and Zasha), and you will invariably see a lot of them. I draw a lot of random stuff, I will draw Kim and my pokémon characters from time to time...basically, you're going to see a lot of stuff.

The whole picture had so much more life to it before I inked and colored. It's, like, I can really make my sketches and drawings come alive with expressions and statements, but the fact is I want to get good with colors...and especially inking. I will master that bitch. Now let's see...Doro is supposed to look irritated. Because she almost always does. WOW, I forgot to add girls on there.

I try a few techniques, and I like to experiment. So if you think you detect whiteout in this picture, guess what? You're 100% right. I discovered toward the end that it gave the sign a more poster-ee feel. It also fucks up whatever you want to apply to that "postery feel."

Overall, you wanna know what? I fucking hate this. I feel like I had a good picture, but I threw up on it. But I'm hoping to get better. I got lazy with it toward the end. When I start to hate something, often times I get lazy and negative and fuck it over further. I'm amazed I actually let myself post this piece of crap.

And that, my darlings, is it.

Edit: I further ruined the picture by coloring in the mouth, thickening the lines outside the sign, and coloring the stupid ear ring. Enjoy.

Tools: Rose art markers, whiteout, Prisma colored pencils, mediocre non-inking ballpoint or non ballpoint pens, pencils...uhhhhhh...And erasers for some of the effects. Yeah, that about sums it up.

^__^ I really like the shading in the body, hair, and eyes. XD although its a little hard to tell with the shading in Doro's eyes, but its still really cool. I love the ears, and the lineart is muuuuch better this time. nice, smooth, and varying lines, that's what I like! One little tip though... color lightly. Or was this done in markers? Some of the strokes are really bold, and it takes away from the center piece, which is the expression on Doro's face, ne? not to mention, it may help your frusterations when coloring. XD; if you color lightly first, a mistake won't be as easily caught.
