This is just lovely! I appreciate how you've portrayed this subject. The stairs almost look like a Chinese fan spreading across the photograph. The ability to take a common subject and turn it into something which captures and holds attention is the mark of a great photographer and you've accomplished it to a high degree here. All the lines in this piece work together to keep my interest. Great job!

I agree with =3wyl about perspective - it is different from most of the stair photos, since it doesn't show them going down/up into infinity, but rather a part of a whole... if that makes sense.
Black and white works very well and it focuses our attention on the shapes and the texture (and the texture on the steps is just amazing!). I would have increased contrast of the steps just a bit more, but that might be just me - the photo looks good as it is now

I must say that the perspective is very intriguing, here. It's also pretty cool how it's landscape. You see many pieces with subjects like these in portrait format.
The black and white contrast conveys the subject matter well, as well as accentuate the atmosphere.
