interesting image, I like the expressions. I dislike the general dullness of the print/scan though.

a bit flat, possibly it needs some white.
I would have used a shorter paper exposure time and - if needed - increased paper gardation. Afterwards if needed burned in a bit some areas.
Or in digital speak if you work with scans only, +brightness and in case +contrast and/or some burning.

I just left out some comments to colleagues sicne I'm not that satisfied from the winning image (and also the other mentions) thus... stepped in myself.

i don't think there is anything wrong with cutting off his feet. the contrast kind of bothers me though. there aren't enough dark and light areas. but so far this is my favorite photo submitted to the street photo contest

almost look liuke you overlapped bits in the curve.. r.e. the black and grey.. it comes across as if there are flat spots where there's no gradation. Also, you cut off his feet. it's a good subject though, that's for sure.. the woman adds to it a lot.

Stunning!
I love that the faces of both people are almost identical.
if you had shot this from the hip, you would have missed that fantastic gesture, but at the same time Id have liked to see the shot taken from a lower angle.
Also that print is way to contrasty and too over exposed, there is very little actual white in the image and it shows too much dodging on the faces. As far as full tonal range, theres too much grey and black.
