Description
The official title of this beast is “Hannibal, Navigator of the Ancients,” but he also doesn’t mind being called Hannibal or Hans for short.

This creature was once tasked with assisting ancient peoples with their navigational needs, and could be called upon at any point for as long as they knew how to draw his seal. This, of course, became problematic after awhile, as the people that once relied on him for his knowledge began dying off—whether by disease or war, and with it, their knowledge of the seal.

This inevitably resulted in him spending more and more time in Limbo than his contract would allow, and this, quite understandably, upset his superiors. After much deliberation over what to do with him, they decided that the best option was to send him back to Earth in order to carry out the rest of his contract—permanently.

So, with all superiors in agreement, they molded him a human vessel to inhabit, sealed him to it so that he couldn’t escape it, and sent him back with the encouraging words of, “don’t do anything stupid.”
