The Harlequin went to town, a deadly man in tights, got medieval on some dudes and left them until they die. The Harlequin tear it up. The Harlequin is sneaky. Fills his victims up with fear because he looks so freaky. The Harlequin jumped off a roof and landed in the crowd. Before they had a chance to laugh, he took the suckers out!

Unfortunately I believe he only came with the "Best Buy" preorder/collectors edition here in America :/
Apparently the Game Stop version has the Harlequin, so basically you have to sacrifice one to get the other. This is what I found out after arguing for half an hour with the clerk that I want both characters (due to an error while looking up one of the collectors edition that was in Europe, not the good 'ol USofA)

If your pursuer is running after you, try letting them get close and throw your smoke bomb then go up to them and press circle (PS3) or B (XBOX360)

This wouldn't make any sense and ruin the game. They're both from the year 1091, in the Middle East. Plus, the multiplayer is based on Templar Order. Sure, it would be cool to add assassins, but what's the point? For looks? Besides, Mario is in the Creed, and he's the last character you unlock in online.
