Kidd!! I don't wanna spoil anything for those who had not yet played the game.
I hear they're making one last ac game and that's it.
I enjoyed this game though. But it seems to me that the creators of assassins creed is running low on ideas for the story line. Both Edward and Connor became assassins later in their future, compared to Ezio and Altair which their families were part of the creed before they were themselves.Β
Heh like you don't know about this info
Well, I'm just pointing out the fact that the game industry is gonna come to an end with this series very soon. But I enjoyed this game like I enjoyed the others as well. This is really great. I love it keep up the good work!

Personally, if they're just one game away from finishing the series, i feel its a shame. There are still places they could've gone and historical things they could've pulled. China, Russia, the old west, i want to go to these places, i want to stalk and ghost and feel satisfaction as my hard work moving around unseen comes to a beautiful conclusion as i dip my blade with a crunch into my target. i can understand some of the niggles many have with the series, but AC4 was great, and while AC3 did have some problems, i still enjoyed it for the most part.
Β Certain, the whole naval part was mostly what pulled a lot of the fun, but i still enjoy the stealth and AC4 let me do actual, go-in-from-the-tall-grass-sneaky stealth, not just rely on the social stealth. I think that maybe a more open-world focused game where we can go where we want, do what we want, stalk who we want and accept contracts when we want and hunt how we want can pull forward if they concentrate. Whats that? AC is already an open world? well, at least until the story missions tell you where to go, what to do and when to do it with the same diligence a pamphlet telling you how to breath does.Β
Β Despite that, there is one part they haven't explored and gone into in even more depth...the Templar side. Has there been a game where we can play as the bad guys? See through their eyes and feel their feelings as they fight their eternal enemy? I feel they might be missing out, they can go way deep into the whole "freedom vs control" philosophy. They could have us think about it further than just "Hey, he has a cool hidden blade and fights for freedom, templars just have a regular sword and fight for control, how lame they are!".Β
Β The concept of the creed and the templar plan can be used well, making us get into their mental state and trying to understand that, maybe, with how society is (in game and real life) the templar concept of control may have some merit.
These are just some thoughts of mine, dont mind me much, i wanted to write :^D

Heheh it's alright. And I totally agree with you. It's just that I believe that the gaming industry is trying to stick with Desmond's bloodline and they're sorta running out of ideas. It would be a shame for the series to end very soon. Only time can tell. And the templar's point of view sounds like a great idea actually. They may create a game based off of that since Edward has been on the bad side for a bit in the game. Who knows?Β
And I enjoy writing too

its all cool, just a possibly missed opportunity...though now i have more trouble than worrying about AC (and my studies) with this whole "Trillby/Fedora" problem.Β
Β I suspect i will miss a few nights of sleep analyzing and coming to conclusions, though i wonder if it's still to late to find and redeem and coupon so i can turn into a cat, or maybe an immortal mosquito.

Personally, I could play AC into infinity and beyond, even 100 identical games would still please me, I love this series so much.Β
But aren't we playing as a templar in AC3? Hello, Haytham. If you want a deeper onlook on all the things you just mentioned, freedom vs control, read the "Assassin's Creed: Forsaken" book. It's a published version of Haytham's diary. Β It's literally all you wrote about in your comment. How he initially thought low of the Assassins, then discovers his own father, Edward, was an assassin, how he sees his son gaining successes in the Assassin side and how he starts having doubts, secretly rooting for Connor to win. Β It also gives you a whole new view on several scenes from the game. So many plot twists.
Also, AC does take place in Russia in the comics. Can't tell you the title, as Β I don't remember, but look it up. It follows the story of Daniel Cross' ancestor, Nikolai Orelov, a Russian assassin. About China - at least we have the Chinese assassin from AC2 movie (she also gets mentioned in AC3 )
All things, books, comics and short movies are considered canon by the creators. Therefore, they just didn't want to use locations and plots they already - sort of - used. They like to surprise their fans and let them explore, I s'ppose.

i didnt know about the book, thanks for that. but i also yearn to be in control of a character (most any character) whilst being in the places in mentioned.Β
Β I just enjoy stealth and stalking...and i want a return of AC3's equipment. While AC1 had minimal but good equipment, AC2 through AC:Revelations had a (ridiculous) growing arsenal, and AC4 had neat dual-wielding and pistoleering, it is AC3's equipment selection that i really felt as "complete" yet believable in a way, especially where ammo is concerned...consider though, i think i never upgraded my tools, my game seemed to be defected and i had no trading wagons for the whole game and strangely couldnt craft, but i didnt mind. (i cant justify having 20 arrows, 25 throwing daggers, 15 mines, 15 rope darts, 20 bullets, a hand axe, a sword and other tools)

Just have to say it... Your characters look stunning, but your backgrounds needs a lot of work, like a large amount of work. No I mean like a lot!
π: 0 β©: 3
Ravensilver In reply to MLeth [2014-02-28 01:04:19 +0000 UTC]
Well, this being a 'sketch' dump, I don't think the background is really important, is it?
Besides, her style of drawing doesn't lend itself to detailed backgrounds. *And*... since most of her work are commissions, it's a question of how much the commissioner is willing to invest - detailed backgrounds are expensive. I, for one, would rather have a perfect rendering of the interpersonal relationship that I'm asking for than unneccessarily detailed background. I'm looking at the people, not the trees...
It's a question of priority. Is the situation - and the people in it - important, or the background? Maybe she does incredible landscape watercolors in her free time and just doesn't want to post them here because they don't fit into her gallery...? ;

MLeth In reply to Ravensilver [2014-02-28 01:12:50 +0000 UTC]
The commissioner thing is a fair point! I'm just afraid that because she don't get to draw backgrounds that often she won't improve and why would I want a background? It's because of this, like I told Vocol below: "Her characters look absolutely amazing and the anatomy are more often than not flawless - Which is why I think it's such a shame that these characters will have to live in such bland and empty worlds ):"

yarngirl In reply to MLeth [2014-02-28 00:59:08 +0000 UTC]
It's her artwork - she can draw it however she likes. Many of the pieces she does aren't meant to have backgrounds - they're not /missing/, they were never meant to be there to begin with.
π: 0 β©: 1
MLeth In reply to yarngirl [2014-02-28 01:10:04 +0000 UTC]
It's you folks that keeps her from improving - Because you sugarcoat her lack of background abilities xD There's nothing wrong in learning new things right? Take a look at my conversation with Vocol here below and you'll get some more insight on the subject.
