Spanking isn't child abuse, you retard, it is making them understand the only thing they can, pain through violence, when they hav done something wrong!

Actually, spanking your children does not teach them anything that you couldn't teach them by talking to them. Violence is never a neccesity.

Your species only understands pain. Your opinions are invalid since you're too retarded to understand anything.
I am speaking of proven facts. Oh, you don't approve? Well I don't approve of your existence but you don't see me going off framing you for some ridiculous crime.

What, do you think I'm just making shit up? I have read several books on psychology before, and I actually researched on the web to find out what studies show regarding this particular thing. The people who are advocating this practice in various articles seemed to almost always be conservative Christians, parents who used this method of discipline themselves, or both.
Since you think I'm retarded because I disagree with your medieval views, here are a few people who seem to agree with me.
[link] - In which several people with professor degrees, one of them a Yale professor, say that spanking is harmful to children and actually doesn't work
[link] - This study suggests that physical punishment could possibly be linked with mental issues later in life. There is some disagreement, but it's still interresting to look at.
[link] - This one includes quotes from researchers that support corporal punishment, and as such at least attempts to show both sides of the case. However, there was one quote by a Dr. Siegel that I found was making a very valid point. "It's very hard to make a violent act loving," says Dr. Siegel. "Although it's true that a lot of spanked kids will never develop serious problems, why would you take the risk? There are healthier ways to raise a well-behaved child."
I could probably find more if I bothered to.
I also asked my mother about the topic. She works with children who are mentally impaired (things like ADHD, personality disorders and such) and has a bachelor degree in pedagocigs, so I figured she'd know something about it. She basically said what all those studies also said- and added that it's a primitive method that people resort to because they are incapable of (or unknowledgable about) other, more constructive ways of disciplining.
Also, this is interresting. 2 out of 3 Americans think that corporal punishment is an acceptable way of disciplining children. In my country, it is forbidden by law. Compared, to the US, our crime rate is very small, and we have been voted the happiest country in the world several times, currently ranking as the 3rd happiest country. It could be just a coincidence, but still... Quite interresting.

Ya, whatever dumbass. I know you are a gullible retarded little kid who automatically takes in what people say as the truth.
I actually know what the frakking truth is instead of believing lies and rumors as the truth.
A retarded little child like you isn't worth my superior time. Bye little dumbshit.

My god, you are probably the thickest person I have ever encountered in my life. How fucking narrow-minded are you? If you could explain in a calm, reasonable manner why you disagree with me I wouldn't have such a problem with it, but so far all you've done is hurl insults at me and tell me how retarded I am for having a different opinion. I base my statement on the articles and studies that I have read about the topic, but you haven't presented me with a single shred of documentation proving me wrong.
You are childish and immature and completely incapable of leading an intelligent conversation. Frankly, you seem like a very vile, arrogant and unpleasant person, and I sure am glad I will never have to deal with you in real life.

HA! Look at what thats done for todays kids... Discipline is necessary because it locks life lessons into our minds in a way that another persons mere concepts can not.
Adequate discipline is an unarguable necessity. Where would we be if circumstances didnt set us straight? Would you rather someone's first experience with paying for their insolence be prison? How would they understand law if they were never taught consequence? It is important for kids to know there are consequences and they wont understand that such consequences hurt until they feel it in a way that they will understand.
Now I agree that this shouldnt be taken too far, and when you're in responsibility over someone, you are looking out for their best interest. But could you really say youre looking out for the best interest of that person if youre not willing to take the action to set them right??

You know, I could get myself into a long explanation of the psychological effects of hitting your children, but since have an appointment to get ready for, I instead found this article that briefly explains pretty well what I mean to say: [link]
I have been hit once in my life, and though my mother was extremely sorry afterwards (she had been acting in a state of extreme stress) and never did anything like it again, I was absolutely terrified for weeks. Every time she got angry I was afraid she would hit me or my siblings. I cannot imagine why anyone would purposefully inflict such fear upon their child for the entirety of their childhood.
I agree that one must deploy some level of discipline, but not the sort that involves physical abuse. There are many ways in which to learn your child a lesson without hurting them. If one has a basic understanding of child psychology, this should be obvious.

I understand what you're saying but I got spanked countless times in my childhood, just like all my friends, and we were never terrified or damaged. In fact now I'm an adult, I think it's done me immense good.
There are two sides to this argument so I'll quote this: "proponents of either position can come up with enough evidence to support their beliefβbut not enough to convince the other side."
Like these for example:

I suppose it may depend on the person. Everyone I've ever known that has been hit before has desribed it as a very negative experience, and I myself also felt that way. Perhaps because in my country hitting children is strictly banned and will get you under the watch of social services, and at the very worst the children could be taken away from you (of course they would not take such severe action if it only happened, say, once or twice, but rather if it was a regular occurence), it is not something commonly done, and thus from a cultural viewpoint seen as a terrible thing.
My point is not that everyone who hits their child is a soulless demon or that all who have experienced this are broken and damaged, but rather that there are alternatives to this method that work just as well and will not harm them for sure.
I read the links you provided- I found them interresting, since they showed both sides of the case. I still resent the idea personally, but it's only fair to hear out arguments from the other side.

Still wonderful, but not quite as fun without the sexual tension that was in the first one. (Most of the lack in that department is because incest is really not my gig, I mean, Haytham and Connor are both beautiful, but Haytham AND Connor just doesn't float my boat. Now for Desmond if Shaun was doing it... That, that would be hot.) But whatever, great work!

Child abuse lololol
I guess they can count as children in this situation
it just makes me wonder what the two of them would have done to get spanked so much
unless this is all just foreplay
