I believe that Desmond's face is messed up because it's the combination of Ezio and Altair and Darim and his own face. Though, that's my own theory.

Desmond's face is really awful.It scared me when I saw it for the first time. He looks like a 40-year-old man who is taking drugs. Even the old Ezio and Altair are better than him.

I do look the blood splatters.. it's always tricky to make them look random and not.. deliberate.
I know, right? Desmond looks totally different in the game, but he looks as usual in the flashbacks... very odd of them guys at Ubisoft.

I hope I'm not giving away any spoilers here, but that scene in Assassin's Creed II where Altair has sex (and I assume this is the result, I have not played Revelations yet) always bothered the heck out of me.
Conception does not work like that! It takes a few hours (maybe even days!) before the sperm reaches the egg.
Maybe I'm being too picky, but I have yet to see ONE mainstream game or movie that gets this right.

Simply wonderful. I completely agree with you about Desmond and his face. Ezio also looks strange! It's like they took our favorite characters and... And... MELTED them. That's it. Their faces look like ice cream in the warm sun. The game is tons of fun, but if they ever release another, the first issue to address is to put our handsome boys back the way they were!

Is this when Altair must abandon his own castle? I haven't played the game, but I know about some of the storyline. I know in Ezio's time it's under Templar control, but...hmm.
