If you don't like it, don't look at it. And BTW, there is nothing wrong with being gay. What's wrong is the idiot logic coming from your pea-brain mind. You are spewing out hate, and that is better? Wrong again.

Then I guess you should be prepared to hate her 'forever' because she's not gonna stop. No matter WHAT you say.
And what ever happened to the saying 'don't like, don't look'? Or hell, even comment?
I wish idiots like you would stop putting hateful comments on artwork that they don't like. It's disgusting. I won't curse at you or anything but people like you are not cool. As a matter of fact, without freaking idiots like you, the world would be closer to peace. It angers the crap out of me to see YOUR garbage. I hate it and I will hate you forever if you keep posting hateful comments on artwork on the computer.

Truer words have not been uttered. I hate Homophobic pieces of garbage like that even having access to the internet, it sickens me that people like him still exist in a world where most civilized areas of the planet have excepted homosexuality with open arms, screw this guy.
Now if only there was a like button for your comment...

Love how everyones having a spaz over whether or not it's yaoi So Im gonna throw my two cents in as well.
To me, despite being a yaoi fan, it does look more like a rescue scene. Poor Nightwing got his arse handed to him and Bats just swoops in to save the day
I've seen the reverse of this picture happen alot in cartoons and comics as well so I dont really see the reason to argue over the subject matter.
Anyway, It's an awesome picture with a really good perspective and lighting too and it has two of my favourite characters from DC. Instant Favorite for you Doubleleaf

Thank You. i really appreciate seeing a voice of reason in a comment section. ^.^ i agree, the debate is really a moot point since it's clearly a rescue scene and perception is everything in art. it's only yaoi if you think it's yaoi. lol batman is awesome no matter what. <3

Thank You too
I guess people just need to look before they think. Then again, previous artworks done by doubleleaf have been slash in the past so thats what also influenced the idea that it might be yaoi to some.
And yes, Batman is awesome. Swingin' in to save the day and a couple of birds while he's at it

I only see a rescue scene. Lots of homophobic guys making nonsense comments about how girls should not enjoy they kawai desu yaoi, and a bunch of girls directly tagging it as omg kawai desu yaoi. IT'S A RESCUE SCENE, take it the way you like and then continue with your life...
Even if I admit it's a great picture, i wasn't going to fave it... and now I am faving it just to make it a little more popular in the face of stupid people who can only think of yaoi or homophobia

NinjaPiratePrincess In reply to CarmenMCS [2011-06-20 01:11:07 +0000 UTC]
I agree with what you said here, however, look at the pose and angle of these characters. If it was simply a rescue scene as you say, I doubt so many people would take the homophobic/yaoi vibe. You can't deny it can be interpreted as such, and when an image without a blatant view of the artist is presented (even so) can interpretation can be given by anyone and isn't necessarily right or wrong. Either way, any type of homophobia isn't okay.

CarmenMCS In reply to NinjaPiratePrincess [2011-06-20 01:26:36 +0000 UTC]
I am not saying this is right or wrong, and I am not denying it can be taken as shonen ai -and knowing the stuff this artist draws, it was probably her intention to make it appeal for shonen ai fans... however, it's still a rescue, plain as that-
My point is: this is fictional, no one is going to die whether this is gay or not, so by any means let the fangirls think of it as so called "yaoi", because this pic can be interpretated in different ways, as well as all that happens in Batman that looks 50% more gay than this pic, seriously X_D
Yet again, as a fellow "yaoi fan" that is not totally obsessed or 15 years old, I understand why people is annoyed by the fangirls, because I am annoyed too, but what can you do?

NinjaPiratePrincess In reply to CarmenMCS [2011-06-20 02:06:03 +0000 UTC]
Hold on, are you saying it's not yaoi or that people are using the term yaoi incorrectly? Because colloquially among the fangirl community "yaoi" has become anything that is guyXguy, but I'm pretty sure you are using the correct meaning where yaoi is graphic maleXmale sex versus shonen-ai being more bromantic. Right? I'm still confused why you'd be annoyed by fangirls liking their boys doing things but you don't have to explain, it's not that big a deal.

CarmenMCS In reply to NinjaPiratePrincess [2011-06-20 12:27:58 +0000 UTC]
As I said, and just to make it clear, I like shonen-ai and yaoi, and I actually draw yaoi doujinshi for anthologies and the likes, so yeah I have nothing against it, and of course I am not "annoyed by fangirls liking their boys doing things" because, well, I am a yaoi artist myself so yeah, thinking I would be annoyed by that is plain nonsense X_D
I am awared of the colloquial use and that's why I put it in inverted commas, like to say "hey I am using it that way so you understand but it's not the correct term" I am concerned about people using the world yaoi for everything that includes two guys, even when they aren't even touching... when people look up what yaoi really mean, they get the idea we fangirls are watching nonsense gay porn all day long, and I don't like it, because certainly, at least I don't do such. I want people to think of me and fellow artists as respetable people, artists that put effort in what they do, etc., not as some perverted childish kawai desu animutard. But the thing is, most "yaoi fans" ARE like that it seems: they aren't able to make a decent come back when someone insults what they like; they are the first ones to be rude and intolerant to others; they automatically call someone homophobe and go whiteknightard whenever some non yaoi-fan makes a point they don't like whether that person is right or wrong; etc. My god just look at my comments, I actually are a yaoi fan myself and just because I try to understand how non-yaoi-fans feel other yaoi fans come to tell me how wrong I am? Seriously, there is a problem here.
So yeah, taking that into consideration, it's really hard to explain fanboys, anti-yaoifangirls, and pretty much everyone else that we "yaoi fans" are not such idiotic perverted people who would pair any random couple of males and make them fuck without need of plot or explanation.
So yeah, to make it clear, I am annoyed by "fantards" and not by fangirls. Like it happens with any other genre, fantards make the rest of the fans look bad, and when the fandom (the yaoi fandom in this case) is really big, there are tons of fantards and they make lots of noise, so normal people and reasonable fans are almost invisible to other people's eyes.

Wow I super didn't expect you to go into the detail you just did and wasn't looking for it so I commend and appreciate you for taking the time to express yourself. I'd say what you said about the yaoi fandom can be applied to the general japanese anime fandom due to the prevelance of hentai. Anytime I tell someone I'm into anime or manga they assume it's all porn, which it's not, as you said, ect ect ect.
Well... cool! I'm definitely adding "whiteknightard" into my vocabulary.

yes, that too, sadly... though luckily is not as bad as it used, now more people know anime is also, you know, famous kids shows like Pokemon or Doraemon so they actually get the idea that there are different genres when it comes to anime XD but, as you said, lots of people actually thought anime was porn until they met me and got a bit in contact with the anime I usually watch, which are sport anime or fantasy/steampunk for the most part XD

I just want to say
THANK YOU
I'm so glad that there are more sensible yaoi/shounen ai/bl/any other term I may not be aware of, fans out there. I too am a fan but I don't pair up everyone with each other if I don't see it o-O. Nor will I yell at someone if they don't like it, to each their own.
I just hate when it turns ugly, on both sides.
---Anywho, about the pic itself---
Love it, and is it weird that I actually don't see this as too lovey dovey-ish? XD. It looks more like he's making a smartass comment about being a damsel in distress and Batman's like, "don't push me boy, I -will- drop you" lol.
