The developers stated that Mercer's story ends in Prototype 2. That kinda hints that Heller is going to stomp him into dust!

Sure it does at least the virus Mercer's story ends since they never said anything about the human Mercer's story ending in P2. I would love to play as that Mercer at least he'd have some character and personality in him and think and feel like the rest of humans despite him being a psychopath.

Well he did at least to the virus!Mercer he did that shithead idiot since some people don't want Mercer's story to end if that were me i'd do remake od this series since while the gmaeplay is good but still shitty since you can't charge your jump the stories and characters weren't so fleshed out well at all.

just because his story ends doesn't mean he dies. he could find peace within his existence and lives the rest of his life away from the fighting and chaos.
the idea of him dying, especially "beaten up" by heller, doesn't sit well with me. HE SURVIVED A NUKE AND LIVED BY ONE CELL. how can heller be certain he got every last molecule of alex's being?

Because he and Heller are of the same special makeup. That's usually how it goes with these things. Nothing man-mde can tke him down, only "one of his own".
And the idea of him being beaten up by Heller sits very well with me.

i don't know, for me, i just keep thinking of them as beating each other up until they're both at one cell. then some poor passerbys get sucked up by both of them and the cycle repeats.
i guess i'm also not in-tune with the idea of alex being beat up by heller just because, as i said before, he could just do so much. i'm not saying heller's not a good character, i'm just saying that i'd prefer if they'd go into mercer's story a little more. he obviously had strong feelings about the human that he became, and that seemed to give us a peek at the emotional being that he could become.

I enjoyed Prototype, but Alex was never a really nice guy. He was far from a like-able character, but a fun game is a fun game.
Maybe this new guy won't be as boring.

Really dynamic. Your Heller looks intense. Wish I could see the look on Alex's face. Bet he's a little surprised to meet another of his own ilk.
Not the first time the main protagonist in a game series is set as the player's initial opponent. Fighting Dante as Nero in Devil May Cry 4 is one such example.
With that in mind, and considering the fact you pretty much make him a nigh-unkillable demigod in the original game, you have to admit "Alex Mercer" would certainly present an entertaining challenge.
