So this is from my old profile (~torsoboyprints ) and it's a few years old by now, but it's still a very active concept for me, so I chose to bring it here.

Without going into the whole idea, I would just like to run through the basics: This is a concept for an adult-oriented Power Rangers. Based on the original MMPR team, the concept rebuilds the team from the ground up. It's no longer a 5-member team. It's now a galaxy-wide paramilitary organization created for the purpose of retaking the galaxy from Zed. It's a gruesome, hyper realistic sci-fi instead of a campy children's show, where the Rangers are the underdog in every aspect of their existence, and members are constantly being killed in action. Think "Blackhawk Down" with a Power Rangers skin applied to it.

The idea started to develop from my love of modern comic book hero movie character costume designs. A lot of people dislike all the leather and piping and stuff, but I'm absolutely in love with it. As I grew as a prop builder, I became fans of the work of Legacy Effects, particularly in their Halo ODST and Reach live-action commercials, so that's been a HEAVY influence on my concepts.

This is the first concept showing the Powered Armor suit. This is a special sub-group within the overall Rangers' organization, much like the Army Rangers are to the US Army. There are a few Rangers sporting the Powered Armor per platoon, and they are intended to deal with the heavier brutes of the enemy forces, while the regulars carry on the majority of operations. The key inspiration for the Powered Armor are the "shields" worn by Tommy as the green and white Rangers, and worn by Jason as the gold Ranger. For this concept, they are implemented as the standard shoulder armor, so they are intended to show up on any Ranger wearing the Powered Armor.
