You did Lovecraft proud. I love how you captured the atmosphere that is so prevalent within the short story. I didn't think it was possible, but I was wrong. Well done!

I was thoroughly pleased watching this. Excellent work. Question, what did the voice in the end say? I could not understand.

Thanks.

Glad you liked it! He says "You fool, warren is dead"

Um, wow. I didn't think this story would work as an adaptation, but you more than managed it. You knocked it out of the freakin' park!
The only liberty I noticed was the whole execution thing, but that made sense in the context of a short animation (Unless you're insane and were planning on doing all of the Randolph Carter stories. )
This has been a daily deviation, right? Right? Tell me it has!

DougDougmann In reply to Kingjing [2011-12-15 05:34:54 +0000 UTC]

Might do more of his stories, if so I'm not too worried about the continuity since this one needed to stand on it's own too. Right now we're (slowly) working on The Temple.

Can't wait to see it!

I actually find it more frightening that nothing is said here. Even when I first read the story, I thought that "YOU FOOL, WARREN IS DEAD" was really cheesy.

I love it! You edited the script really well, honestly I can't tell what parts of the text is original and what is not.

Most of its the original- just cut and clipped down (and rearranged a bit) into a manageable size. I'm glad you think that part worked!

Glad you caught it there, DA's video stuff seems to be pretty wonky. Happy that you liked it!

Another breath-taking short film. I always really enjoy them. This one was especially exciting. Not only were the backgrounds very detailed and beautiful to look at but the characters were very believable and I felt sorry for the young man who had to die on the electric chair for something he did not do. The voices and sounds were also very well done. Especially the ending.

Overall, this is ridiculously awesome, as was "The Terrible Old Man." You and your team have an amazing sense for capturing the mood and otherwordliness of these Lovecraft shorts.

Thanks so much for sharing.

While I understand the need for the rush and immediacy of suspense, the lines here and just before were a little hard to make out against the background noises.

That was really good, the only complaint I have is what ~aintn0body already said.
I don't know why, but the narrator voice reminded me of Malcolm Mcdowell when he played Alex in a Clockwork Orange, minus the accent that is

DougDougmann In reply to Volneth [2010-05-22 16:24:31 +0000 UTC]

You're the second person to have that complaint, so I checked the end of the video, and it's not there- which is odd because this is the same file I uploaded to youtube I was wondering what you and others were talking about. Then I watched it all of the way through on here and realized- no it isn't. It must be some bug on DA's part because I uploaded the same file to youtube:

Skip to around 3:20, I'll see what I can do to make it work on here.

Volneth In reply to DougDougmann [2010-05-23 12:19:02 +0000 UTC]

I think this was the first video I've seen here at dA and I wouldn't be so surprised that it's bugs that is causing it or maybe it's just me who is inexperienced with dA's videoplayer ^^

Hope you can get it right as it would be great if the whole could be uploaded as it is in youtube, though it is really good now as it is, it would be great if the last part could be here as well

DougDougmann In reply to Volneth [2010-05-23 15:03:02 +0000 UTC]

I was told that if you use the 'download as high quality' link that it works fine. So it's not my file- it's DA's player.

Whaaaaat a pain, haha.

Volneth In reply to DougDougmann [2010-05-24 19:52:29 +0000 UTC]

Oh ok, well I'm not surprised it's something wrong with dA's videoplayer, but I hope they could make it work more properly.

I don't know why you decided to give the tombs a Pre-Columbian motif, but I love it. My only real complaint is that you left out the punchline.

Yeah, I did actually hear it on the high quality DIVX I downloaded. Strange, that.

Love the deep glottal voice that delivered the punchline, BTW. Really fits.

Yeah, watching it on here without that line was... underwhelming... to say the least.
