The painting you commented on was the spacecraft used in America's first manned program, with a single astronaut. Gemini was next, with two, and they developed the techniques for the next program...Apollo, which used the command and service modules, and of course the lunar module lander, which carried two astronauts to the moon (six separate landings) and the upper part returned them to the command module (with a single astronaut piloting). If you already knew this much, I hope you didn't get too bored reading all this. Thanks again.

Thank you! I probably knew it at on point in my life from being taught about space in elementary school (that was the big thing everyone got excited about in 3rd grade), but I forgot about it along the way. If that's true, thank you for the refresher!
