. . . many thanks for your responses to this piece James .....that it provokes without being loud or flashy - but somewhat understated and quirky is something I like - one of those - that sneak up on you for some reason ................. I'll ( humbly ) await my blue ribbon .

Am I right in assuming that you don't need a full scholarship to the School of Hard Knocks? The blue ribbon reminds me of a Scottish joke much repeated at work.

My mind so badly wants to find sense in the bits but I think it's going to have to suffice with fascination.

no, it didn't hurt at all. and i am glad that i finally found the time
nice collection - much better than mine. i AM a bit envious. i had plenty of CRETE, but for instance, never an IRENE. they are so difficult to find

I love this! I wish it were a real three dimensional thing that I could look at up close and personal.

thanks Audrey ..well it's based in part in reality ..those little squashed screen things are inserted into little square holes half way up a building near where I live ...and I'm not sure why they were put in there in the first place ...but that adds to the mystery.

I love the little labels. To have Ming and Ling with Irene and Eve...well, it doesn't get better than that.
And full view is absolutely necessary to appreciate this fully.

..many thanks Laura .. lol ! .... yeah it was fun cutting out the little words out of bigger words - then moving the letters around .. close as I can get to real collagy stuff ......I am thinking of buying a few old dollar ea. books at the library and getting a sharp pair of scissors ..that's how it starts eh ?

In for a penny, in for a pound. Yup, that's how it starts. But usually one doesn't remember how it feels when the collage pod people take over your body.

DouglasHumphries In reply to LauraTringaliHolmes [2011-02-17 04:28:16 +0000 UTC]
...well ...I can't answer that ....but I've seen 4 very good ( new ) movies ( in the theater ) ..which is rare ( for me ) .
1. True Grit
2. The King's Speech
3. Blue Valentine
4. The Fighter ( saw that tonight - far better than it sounds -Christian Bale is incredible ! )

The King's Speech was riveting. That's the only one we saw. I really should not complain, or criticize, because it would be hard to find somebody who knows less about movies than me!

thanks - I appreciate that ....just snippets from an old telegram ..cut up the words ... cloned a few letters around .. no implied meaning ...just words .
