Over the course of a month Julia nursed Miguel back to health; administering medication, cleaning wounds and making sure he ate something. But they did not speak. He trusted her and she nearly got him killed.

One day after she left his meal of fruit from her garden and clear broth he felt strong enough to get dressed and take a walk.

Julia's Arizona house/lab was inspired by the famous naturalist Cody Lundin's clay, environmentally self sufficient house- but with extras like electricity from solar panels. And a shower made of collected water and desert rocks. It was all quite beautiful.

Miguel wondered past the building in to the desert where he suddenly saw a mirage of his dead sister.

"Why did you tell me to trust Julia Chang? She almost got me killed."

"But her heart is as lonely as yours." said the ghost. “You are both warriors, chasing a goal that will never bring you happiness." The ghost started to disappear, "from where I am I can see all that is and all that will ever be..... you are destined to complete each other.............but in your heart you already know that." with that she vanished.

He walked back to the house, still upset, but willing to consider Julia's past, her character and the fact that she did not leave him to die- when she very well could have. She was not as smart or perfect as she appeared. and that made him love her more.

Yes- he did love her. For reasons he could not put in to words, he felt a need to be with her. He could see a future with her, the idea of not being with her made him nervous and sick to his stomach. Was this love? It had to be.

He needed to find her. Julia was not in the house or the garden, so he looked to the outdoor shower.

Completely nude, she splashed water on her face, then let the water run down her body- to cool off in the Arizona heat. The strong, steady stream of water coming off the rocks felt good against her skin after working for most of the day in the garden. Out of nowhere she felt his arms around her. Maybe she was dreaming? After all he was so injured he could barely walk much less surprise her.

Miguel has first only removed his shirt, before tracing his fingers over her hip bones, then up her ribs, then over her curves. Her body was soft and warm. He took off his cloths and joined her under the water stream.

Julia put her arms around him looking in to his eyes with sweetness and innocence; he could not help but smile.

This was peace.

Revenge on Jin Kazama could wait, after all the tekken tournament would come around again, but until then he wanted only to be with Julia.

But he was not sure what his place would be in her world; her life was her research, so he spoke from his heart. "I want to stay".

"and I want you to stay" she said nervously.

Miguel took a breath "....I have nothing to offer you." he said in a voice that betrayed his emotions. "You are so brilliant, determined... just the most amazing person I have ever met..."

Julia blushed, "if you can still trust me after everything I put you through, that's more than enough."

She kissed his lips then held him close, "your love..is everything I could ever want..."

but the next part she said only in her head, "and there is nothing in this life that would make me happier then to be by your side for eternity, as your lover, your friend, your wife." -perhaps someday.
