Description
This is our Obi. He showed up at the farm this fall and decided it was a fine place to stay. I was in the garden picking corn for supper when I felt something winding itself around my ankles. It gave me quite a start. I looked down and there was Obi.This is Tweet

smart boy that Obi are the stray cats un-fixed when they show up at your door?
just wondering how they get to be strays in the first place?

Someone may have dumped them off, and sometimes we get strays from a neighboring farm where there are to many barn cats and they are on the bottom of the pecking order so the leave. They certainly weren't wild and they knew what the litter box was for when I let them come in the house. Obi is probably just over a year old as he has grown a lot (he isn't fixed) The little female is older, she hasn't grown much and I am suspecting that she may be fixed (as I haven't seen her come in heat yet)
Our old Smelly Cat was definitely from our neighbors; he was very independent and loved to roam. He always went back and forth between the farms. We haven't seen him since late last fall, so we will see if he shows up again in the spring.

they're lucky to have come across a warm place to spend the winter
since our cats passed last year, we have a feeding station outside for strays
can't bring any in because of the puppies - but at least they can get a good meal here
