Description I have been working on this collage for awhile. It was a learning process and I have re-done it several times. I hope you enjoy a little view of the new spring babies on the ranch.

In the summer and springtime I get a lovely green paint quarter horse. Grass stains are so horrible for photos lol. Right now he's blending in with my other 3 and turning himself brown

Somehow I'm just a "little" behind on my deviations to look at. I Love this for many reasons - the work on the farm, the cute calves - can't miss momma watching over - - .

Was thinking the calf would be an adult by the time I got to it but I think I made it.

Not to worry. He has a bit of growing up to do. He gets to go out to our big pasture with momma and play with all his friends all summer long. and don't worry about being behind, I am always days behind. Thanks so much for all your recent s

You're sooo welcome I really enjoy your photos along with our visits.

I'm looking out the window at flowers blowing in the breeze and so much yard work to be done and here I sit in front of the computer - oh well - later

I do enjoy our visits to June. I finally got some serious yard work done on the weekend. We had two sunny days in a row and then it rained again today but the forecast sounds good for the rest of the week. I have mega yard work still to do.
We were hoping to get the vegetable garden tilled up and planted (it was finally dry enough) and discovered that the tiller would'nt start and needs a new throttle cable. Will pick that up tomorrow.
Know what you mean about sitting in front of the computer. My housework gets sadly neglected.
Take care now. Gotta get myself to bed earlier

Doing a little catch up, down to 200 deviations so switching gears a little.

I've put hours, and hours into the garden this year and now I have to refigure what I'm going to do in that part of the yard. We've had more rain this year since we've lived here and have a wet/boggy spot I've been trying to dry up. After much work and time spent it was suggested to me we may have a perk problem (septic).

After standing out back and visualizing where the lines run it appears to be correct. Apparently the ground is too saturated (heavy clay) and there's no place for the "water" to go but up. The veggie garden is on the outer boundry of the affected area but I'm still not comfortable with eating it.

I've had a mental picture of that area for 6 years and rain has caused a total change. I have lots of flowers in the yard that I don't cut and bring in, enjoy them outside, so I think I'm going to start a cutting garden in the veggie garden areas. Mostly next year, may till those areas and seed something for erosion control & if they're pretty leave them next year.

Never bored!!!

Your a busy lady. I'm afraid my flower beds are a bit neglected this year and we only put in about half of the vegetable garden. We had such a cold wet spring, there was no use planting when the ground still hadn't warmed up, and part of the garden was to wet. Then we ended up having a couple of late frosts on top of that. We planted the vegetable garden about 3 weeks later than normal. Will just have to wait and see what we get.

My husband is Mexican, and was raised on working milking cows on his dad's dairy farm in Mexico. He helped feed raise and slaughter the pigs, the chickens, and plant water, weed, grow, and harvest the corn. He is the most hard working man I have ever met, and I know you can say the same about your husband. Ranch people don't know how to sit still, be inactive, or non productive. I was the oldest girl of ten children, and I had to help my mom can, make preserves, jars of jelly, tomatoes, tomatoe relish, and she still has a garden at age 87. We only live on an acre, and usually have a fresh vegetable garden every spring. People have no concept about how much work goes into what they eat. I love seeing every thing you take pictures of, and I'm happy when you explain things I don't know. You take care.
