Don't Spiders usually eat their prey after they've webbed them?

Either way, great work!! Did you ever do a sequel?

Good question. Maybe he has it shipped back to town where it is resold by a mysterious shopkeeper who tells naive adventurers about the legendary giant spider in the nearby mountains.

i love it. they might be embarassed, but atleast their not being eaten.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

healthyinsanity In reply to Spidersvictim [2007-07-16 07:17:21 +0000 UTC]

I think the operative idea here is to eat the ones at the back while new ones come in through the front, so to speak. A big creature like that has to be eating something.

So they're corseted, humiliated, THEN eaten.

!Le suck magnufique!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Frost-Lock In reply to healthyinsanity [2010-03-09 02:00:34 +0000 UTC]

Actually, they're probably cocooned with some sort of partially organic silk that changes their body structure. Eventually, once they're juicy enough, the spider just sucks their husk dry and the remains is just webbing. It's like letting wine age.

Another great piece of work. Although... would binoculars fit the time period that this is most likely placed in?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DovSherman In reply to RushEloc [2006-12-07 09:03:13 +0000 UTC]

While it is true that binoculars have only been around for just under 400 years, this isn't really a period piece since there is no particular time in history when 50 foot spiders were common. It's a fantasy piece so, as long as the world is consistent, the presence of binoculars isn't out of place as long as they don't have a recognizable brand name.
