Description
Beautiful clothing wants to be worn. With this one, I wanted to create a "naughty tentacles" feel but with living clothing instead of tentacles.
This was my twenty-fifth patron-sponsored work which I posted to my patrons on November 8th, 2015.

Oh wow, I love the premise of this! Very creative approach to naughty tentacles and crossdressing, but also a really fun visual angle, with the character laid out horizontally. Great work as always Dov!Β Β

And the awe I have for you grows ever stronger...
This puts me vaguely in mind of the "Material Girl comic strip by Heartgear here on DA. It's gone now,but was a fun little strip about a boy held captive by his sister's wardrobe, animated by a gypsy curse to keep him in her girliest clothes.Β Your drawing is way more dynamic than he even attempted to be. Strong, emotive depiction of what will surely be a life-changing experience for your panicky protagonist!

I really wish there were more stories and drawings combining living clothing and crossdressing. Β It's so difficult to find this stuff.

Out of the last 27 pictures I posted here, only 6 out of the 27 were mid-dressing or mid-transformation. Fully 19 of them were pictures of the end result of a dressing up or transformation. It's ridiculous to complain that I "never" draw something that I've drawn 70% of the time.

This kinda reminds me of HeartGear's Material Girl comic 83

I love that comic and it was definitely influential on this piece.

Ha, I knew it felt similar ^^
But yes, that is a wonderful comic and your illustration is certainly awesome in it's own way depsite the visible inspiration 83

Inspiration from Material Girl is mainly just the way the wig is holding the lipstick (similar to the way MG's ribbon sometimes held lipstick).
Apart from that, the visual inspiration for this piece is more based on tentacle porn. I like experimenting with new motifs and mixing different concepts together. For this one, the intent is to reference the poses and layout of tentacle porn but using living clothing instead of tentacles.

I see.
Well, to me the whole theme of female clothing swarming over a guy to put itself on him was just similar to what happened in MG :3
But like I said, your piece looks amazing in it's own way no matter what the inspiration ^^

Oh, sure, living clothing is a major theme in Material Girl. But the theme of living clothing existed long before MG came around. HeartGear made excellent use of that theme but she didn't invent the theme. (See tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php⦠for other examples.)

I know that living clothing was around for a long time, but female clothing swarming around a male to make him crossdress, well, that does make one think MG |D

HeartGear didn't invent crossdressing, either, and she wasn't the first person to combine living clothes with crossdressing. For example, Heartgear posed the first page of Material Girl (Material Girl: Bad Karma ) in May 2008 but StickySteph posted the first chapter of her story "The Secret Stash "Β to Sticky Site back in 2004. (Steph reposted it here in 2011 but I just double-checked the full set of illustrations, by Kyo, which I downloaded with the story back in 2004 and the timestamps all say December 2004.)
The combination of crossdressing + living clothes really isn't a very uncommon one. And HeartGear doesn't have to be its inventor (which she isn't) to be worthy of a great respect as a skilled and accomplished artist and storyteller.

Geez, never said she invented it either... or ya know what, if this topic is that offensive to you, I'm sorry... you're totally right, I'm totally wrong...

I'm sorry. I think I was interpreting the comparison as an accusation of theft. It probably has less to do with anything you said and more to do with me being on so many painkillers and cough medicines right now that I can't think very clearly. So if I was taking your words the wrong, I apologize; that's on me.

I wont even try to guess which part of any of my comments was accusing you of art theft... I only noted I found the two similar, and both awesome... no plagiarism or arttheft accusations intended...
Meh, sorry if I sound harsh or abd in any way here, dealiong with a lot of crap now and might have snapped more than I should, sorry >>"

I had to! A boa is the most tentacle-like piece of clothing. Plus, I like them a lot. (Although I like really long fur stoles even more.)

No, that came up for a follow-up idea I have for a Halloween pic but haven't drawn yet. Although I did apply that information about dA's policies to some other art this month.
