I've been meaning to say this for some time Dov, but how intentional would you say it is that the beauty inside someone is reflected by the outside in your works?
Seeing this wholly consensual, if not wholesome, scene with two outwardly beautiful characters posed in a beautiful way like this, alongside other pictures like Can't Decide, My New Dolly,Β can be easily juxtaposed against a lot of less than consensual scenes like Family Portrait, Painted Doll, and Valentine Dance.Β
How intentional, if at all, would you say there's a certain kind of "ugliness" added to those with less than helpful intentions?

Yes, it is intentional. Cruelty is ugly. Love and joy and acceptance are beautiful. I do try to express that with my characters. Even when an otherwise beautiful character is doing something cruel, I try to twist their face into an ugly expression. Such ugliness is useful in visual storytelling because it drives the conflict in a story. But, yes, it is ugly. Thank you for noticing.

Thank you very much for the answer, I appreciate it very much! I've also meant to say i appreciate the level of detail you put into the shading and lighting of different muscle groups. It's frequently reserved for men or muscle scenes for added emphasis and seeing it in this context is wonderful.Β
