This is fantastic
Love the design and flow to the piece and the minimal palette to convey the lightcycle and rider so well.
What sort of pencils do you use? I use FC polychromos for my work.
Faved.

Thanks a lot
For this one I used FC pastel pencils and chalks. I love how easy you can blend the colors with these :3

You're welcome
It looks great. You can blend well with the polychromos too, although probably not as well as you can with the pastels but the layering effects are great.
Really want to get my lightcycles out of storage now.

hmm..I've actually never tried polys because they're so damn expensive x)
how do you blend them? just by layering or can you smudge them with something? x)
oh yeah I'd love to see them

They are expensive but I did get 100's of them when the local art shop closed down.
Very sad to see the shop go but very happy to get pencils at 90% off so I cleared the display.
I blend by adjusting pressure applied and then layer colour on top of colour and it works just fine. Takes a lot of practice but I've got used to it now.
I'd have to locate their storage crate first. Right now there's loads of Star Wars stuff everywhere which I'm trying to sort out

Oh wow...that's one amazing discount
What kind of paper do you use? When I draw with regular colored pencils the texture is always so prominent...that really sucks ^^
Oh okay well, I'm excited to see it

It was, which was why I cleared the display. I finally got around to sorting out the whole lot the other week so I have the tin on my desk with one of every colour and the tin on my bookcase with all the spares
I use 200 gsm plain slightly gloss art paper. Nice finish, smooth surface and great for polychromos.
I'll take a picture for you

Well, I now have 119 different colours which is really helpful with projects.
Definitely worth using the paper for projects. It costs more but the finish is so much nicer.
No worries

I used to get it at the art shop in town before it closed so now it's probably the office supply store that will have it.

You should be able to find it on any art supply website but a local office depot should have it with the copier paper.
It would be quite expensive to ship due to weight.

Holy crap, that's extortionate.
I got the pack of 250 sheets of the 200 gsm art paper for £15.

Lol. I loved that art shop. Such a shame they closed down.
I dread to think what it will cost for the next pack when my current supply runs out.....

Manager retired and the shop rent was getting very expensive as it was right in the middle of town.
Really sad to see it go as I loved that place.
They were the ones that got me to try polychromos pencils so all my work since is because they got me to try something new.
We now have a HobbyCraft. It's okay, but it's not Cross'

Yes, every time a family member or friend has a birthday, they get one of my art cards as a gift
I have 3 speed challenges to post this week, a friend's birthday and my niece's birthday cards between now and Saturday.
Also another gift for a friend as well because she's helping me with some stuff so I thought it would be nice to thank her with a pic of her favourite SW character.

Well, folks never know what they want and it's got to a point where they pre-order next year's piece when they get the one for this year - lol.
I do 35 of those a year and then commissions and other work on top of that. That's why I work 6 months in advance
