A bonus follow-up to yesterday's pic! This little Pian is holding a tray of panettone, which is a traditional Italian Christmas cake. It's tall and fluffy and studded with raisins and candied citrus, very tasty!Related content

So I am guessing it is the Italian version of fruit cake?
I have honestly never had fruit cake before, so why do so many people not like it? Or was that just a cartoon joke that wasn't based on anything true?

Sort of! It's nowhere near as dense as typical fruitcake, though--it's a light, airy cake, really
I'm not sure! Fruitcake seems to be the butt of a lot of holiday jokes, although the dessert itself isn't so bad. I think it's just a joke that stuck a little too firmly
