it's kinda a shame that he didn't get the love he needs I heard the 3DS version was good but the wii u version wasn't good?

The WiiU game had a number of problems with regards to gameplay, the control scheme, and some of the graphical effects. The original Wii version fared a bit better, however!
It's a shame the game didn't get more love, but it was marred by all kinds of development/porting issues and almost wasn't released at all. It's by no means a perfect game, but it's still a fun little romp with cute characters and some pretty awesome skyscapes
