how to• create a Restore Point using System Restore (safety first!)
• patch Windows so you can use 3rd party themes using this tool: uxstyle.com
• install the themes by copying the content of the Themes folder in "C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\"
• apply the theme from the Personalize panel
• apply the registry settings by applying the corresponding .reg file in the Window Metrics folder
• remove the hover glow of the taskbar buttons: System>Advanced Settings>Performance Settings>uncheck Animations in the taskbar
• restart Windows and...
• enjoy using this awesome theme!
• OPTIONAL Windows Explorer Tweaks: use OldNewExplorer to Hide the Ribbon and tweak some other stuff to your liking, just make sure the optionEnable glass on navigation bar is unchecked!
• OPTIONAL! narrow vertical taskbar: use 7+ Taskbar Tweaker . Right click on the tray icon>advanced settings and set the no_width_limit = 1
• OPTIONAL! change the system icons: install the numix iPack
• 3 awesome and fun Windows theme: folder Themes
• one cute wallpaper: folder Resources\Wallpapers
• unlimited support!

I was supposed to do a whole series of themes with a bunch of characters like these but unfortunately people didn't really like it so I stopped making it. And then Windows 10 launched and I didn't have time to port this so yeah...

Thanks man! My plan was to make a collection of themes using different characters as a base but as you can see by the lack of feedback, the theme wasn't received very well. Maybe everyone migrated to Windows 10 or something! Dunno... So I have up the idea for now. Maybe I'll revive it on Windows 10 in the future... Maybe.

Cuteness overload, for a theme.
Though I can't use it as I upgraded to Win 10. This is like a punishment for updating, watch and suffer. No fair dpcdpc11 .

Sorry to hear that you've upgraded. I'm still waiting for win10 to be a bit more stable when it comes to theming so I can start doing some win10 themes.
Btw how's the new Win10 working for you? Any productivity improvements on your side?

Well, as a daily driver, I haven't had any issues. True, the battery performance sucks with X and the start menu is screwy; at the start there were some compatibility issues but things are stable now. Have learned to go around those issues.
It would have been nice if Win 8 themes worked on X.
Productivity improvements, umm, can't say, not a 2-3 virtual desktop kinda guy, nor did Cortana bring any significant changes for me; don't use the former and disabled the latter.
I will be honest, I wished I was still at 8.1, the performance was great and everything but its nice to tweak new stuff. I use Windows and Android for the same reason, you can screw with them.
I actually have it as a second boot option, I was waiting for X to fail on me but it just didn't.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Definitely it's more like an evolution rather than a revolution.
I think most users upgraded just because the number was changed and it's always nice to have a new Windows. I best the majority never uses the virtual desktops or cortana. Virtual desktops were cool like in the late 90s on Linux and for Microsoft to call this a new feature in 2015 seems silly.
Anyway at some point I'll have to take the step an move on to X but until then I'll enjoy 8.1 and the many themes available.
