realy great work. how are you doing it, when you start with clay? are you make at first a plaster cast and at second lukopren shape and cast it at first wax or directly bronze?

Very nice. Quite realistic anatomy and proportion. Having never done sculpture, it strikes me that the pose here, with the arm cross over the leg is not easy to do at all. Is it free standing, or does it use the leg for structural support (can't tell from the photo)?

thanks! The hand rests slightly on the leg, though the bronze isn't connected there. The arm was welded back on near the shoulder.

So it was cast in 2 sections? I did not think about that technique. Still impressive.

3 actually. well 5 technically I think, but the molds are for the outstretched arm, the lower leg and the rest of the body. For the bronze I think the guy cut out two pieces from the body so the bronze would flow better into the mold. Then all welded back together and seems grinded/ sanded out and then finished with patina.
