Ally, once known as Alex, sighed. She had just finished navigating through the dozen or so hyperspace jumps to reach Colony Straton four, which required going around another star system to avoid it's gravity well.
This was no easy feat to do with a living ship, since it had no comprehension of death and no self-preservation instinct. Jumping into or very near the star itself would have resulted in a painful death.
She had lost count of exactly how many jumps it took, but thinking about the process and the feat she had just accomplished overwhelmed her so, to her, it was best forgotten.
Doing it by computer would add weeks to the travel time as there were mountains of calculations to be made for each jump and variables so numerous, it would make an scientist nauseous from the work of it all.
Ten years before, the Earth Sphere alliance noted that if an individual were 'Bonded' to the ship, they could navigate 'On the fly' as it were.
This revelation was met with little success, as not all persons were mentally fit for such a task.
Testing proved that nearly eighty percent of persons who had gone through the older, more painful, Crosen nanotech bio-hybrid gender reassignment, seemed to have received quantum spacial awareness as a sort of bizarre side effect.
Alex had been male less than a year before. Plucked from his home in the United North America, he had been drugged and taken off world along with thirty other teenagers in one night.
Alex had woken up, strapped to a table and could only watch and then subsequently scream as nearly a litre of metallic liquid that appeared like mercury, was pumped into his navel.
The process ended several hours later and Ally was cleaned up of vomit and clothed, and explained what situation she was in.
She was informed that she would be a pilot, as scans now showed her brain was wired up nicely. Five others in her group that night were not so lucky. One didn't survive the reassignment at all.
Forced to transfer supplies across the stars for new masters who barely spoke her language, forced to wear a uniform that lacked any pants and having to deal with a living organism the size of a small town that had all the mental capacity of a four-year-old on hallucinogens, made Ally feel very cold and alone.
"This is Straton four, please Identify yourself," came a voice through the implant in brain.
"Eurasian cargo ship, Charlie six four niner seven two Alpha, requesting permission to enter Spacedock," she thought back hard, having to get past the block that prevented her random thoughts from being broadcast to anyone nearby.
"Permission granted for dock Seven," came back the voice. "How you doing Ally?"
Ally looked up to focus on a different section of mucus-lining. "Rachael?"
"You sound a little down, while they unload your cargo, how about I take you for some food?"
Ally felt a small tear form in the corner of her eye. "I... I would like that."
"Okay, my shift ends in sixteen minutes, I'll meet you at the dock."
"Okay Rachael, see you there."

You saw it as a story idea jump-point. I agree. The girl in the picture looked lost in thought, slightly depressed and maybe a little cold. I figured there was a story there in and of itself.

If cold it's psychosomatic, the suit she is wearing covers more they you are led to believe by looks, they masters want her to also be fan-service but she also represents a critical investment.

Possibly, but, I've already have a new subject in mind. I finally have a decent start for an EQ2 fancomic idea, it involves, instead of the main bushwacked in an alley, to being held prisoner in a mad Coecerer arcane labratory.
Just what a sory needs at the begining Magic/S&M/TF-TG/Sexy Dark Elf girls...or is that Halfling in illusion form...

Hm... I'm not sure, but I think that the breasts may be a bit too low. Also, where is the arm that's attached to the hand over her shoulder? It should cover her chest, I think. Here are a couple of references that I found here on DA, they might help you.

I think the breasts should just barely come to the top of the arms, and I don't think they should bulge that much at the bottom, I think it should be a smoother err... 'slope.'

Diffrent angles from the links for one. her other hand is coming up between the breast, Breast do hand that low even smaller ones, I find a lot of people put the breast too high on the body not leaving room for the muscles they are also being deformed by the hand over it. It is hard to depict but that is not all of the breast either it is being squashed from below.

You're probably right, it just seemed wrong to me. But then again, if illustrator's drew what they think it right instead of what IS right, there won't be a lot of very good art.
