I see the title, and all I can think:

"I want to see mountains again, Gandalf. Mountains!"

I wonder why?...

Great work.

Randomly, riiiiiiight.

Line art finished once I recover from mowing the lawn and maybe get some food in me that is the correct order I may scan it in and begin inking and coloring.

The boy scout troop hiked along the trail, as their troop leader pointed out various bits of nature. They came upon a scene of beauty, mountains in the distance, a lake in front of them. Seeing that they could use a break, the troop leader took them to the lake for a chance to work on their swimming merit badges and have fun at the same time. They all jumped in, and had fun swimming around. When they were done, and dressed again, the scout leader looked at the group proudly.
"Once we're done with our hike, girls, we can go pick up the cookies to take to the people who have pre-ordered them." The girls cheered and went back to the wilderness hike happily.

Cute, another option for this kind of picture is a portal leading to other realms (obviously with a sex and possibly species change to go with it).

I like this picture, are the mountains covered in snow or is that just an effect of looking a them from a distance.

Hopefully this reply wont get lost in cyberspace as so many of mine seem to do these days.

Yes, a magical realm with a yellow brick - wait, that's taken.

I know! A land filled with talking animals, that is locked in winter - oh, that's taken too.

Hmmm... the mountains are a bit lacking on depth. A long time ago, I tried my hand at drawing mountains: :thumb33096349:

Granted, it's quite old: I've gotten much better since. HOWEVER, there was a trick I learned: start by making a gradient map. The further away something is towards the horizon, the lighter it will get, as the humidity in the air (even on very dry days) piles-up and scatters the light. So, you use the gradient map as a guide to tell you what color the base of something at distance-x should be.

Here's another example: :thumb20551430:

I have to admit it was a quick-y, mostly for use as paintings in other drawings.
