Event time! In which Weaton experiences his nineteenth nervous breakdown….

Okay, so things get deep here and a little messy and emotional—but Weaton has done a lot of developing over the past couple of years, and losing quite a few of his friends all at once has to have some impact on him…not sure yet if Weaton will answer that letter, so this is him working through that. And some insight into what happened to the Rockin’ K Ranch…yeah. This took me the week to write because emotions are hard GAAAH!

And again, had to upload the art and the writing separately, because the story went so bleeping long—about sixteen pages in Word, my goodness.

Again, sorry for the emotional turmoil from nowhere—but we promise to have lots of funny bits next year! I hope.

Referencing quite a few franchises and book series in my library—I’ve read all but the Lord of the Rings series (Weaton’s experience with that series mirrors my own) and A Wrinkle in Time, which I intend to start this winter. All the others come highly recommended—I’ll be putting the authors in the reference bits.

Also really happy with how the art turned out here—spent a week on it, doing the Umbreon and then every two characters on different layers so I could do the shading more accurately. The fire and shading had a lot of playing with different layers and opacities—in particular, the first layer of shading was a gradient with Overlay, followed by a second layer to do more pointed highlighting and shading. The end result is something that makes me very happy—enough that I shared this on Patreon a couple of days ago, actually.
