Description
I finally saw the leaked SDCC "X-Men: Days of Future Past" trailer, and I have to say, I have not been this excited since the second X-Men movie. It looks really, reeeeally good, and trust me, I can't believe I'm saying that about a Fox produced Marvel comic book movie, either.Anywho, that's where the inspiration for this drawing comes from. I decided to go with an homage to the original Uncanny X-Men #141 cover by John Byrne and Terry Austin, only with two of my favorite X-Women, Shadowcat and X-23 (who replaces Wolverine here), blimped up to enormous proportions in front of a poster of fellow X-Women also looking rather large and luscious. The two whose names on the poster have been obscured are Emma Frost and Rogue (next to an obscured picture of Scarlet Witch), respectively.
It seems that the Sentinels have discovered a way to make it easier to capture the female mutants by introducing an overabundance of fat into their bodies. My guess is that they appropriated the HYDRA fat ray technology (once used on Agent X) and added it as an upgrade to their arsenal. Here we see X-23 defending a helplessly immobilized Shadowcat from an onslaught of the mechanical menaces.
This was a lot of fun to draw, and I'm certainly looking forward to the officially released teaser trailer which should hit any day now.
The X-Men and all related characters are owned by Marvel Comics/Disney.

Oh my friend I think you have out done yourself this time. Such a wonderful idea, I would so love to read this comic. On an artistic merit your skills continue to improve and I'm in awe of the various looks you gave each beautiful round face. Although I am a tad disappointed at the lack of beloved Emma and I'm surprised she's only "overweight".

I'm very glad to hear you say that, my friend. And well, I was going for more classic line-ups, and couldn't leave Emma out. I'm guessing she was a tenacious target to nab, hence why she's only at that stage right now.
