So today, Disney posted on Youtube the main intro for the upcoming Ducktales reboot

And it was pretty successful in my eyes, as it's a new take on the original intro and being it's own thing with depending so much on nostalgia

Here Listen

Original Ducktales Intro

New Ducktales Intro

You see, same song just perform differently but still great to listen and get stuck in your head just the same. Also it's pretty cool to see Scrooge go Sonic the hedgehog and dive in his gold like a porpoise and burrow through it like a gopher

Also Disney through the last week has been releasing mini shorts featuring Scrooge and the boys

From one that we have Huey using the legendary Woodchuck Guide Book

A Duck-tor Who reference that I pointed out a few days ago

And Donald getting trolled on his birthday by a cheap Uncle

I like how Disney made this short clips as I remember a lot of people not liking the animation style of the short when the first trailer dropped earlier this year. I didn't mind the new art style of it when I saw the trailer, I freaking out that one of my favorite animated shows was getting a new breathe of life.

This is also why I think Disney is going to do this reboot better than how Cartoon Network handles it's reboots, and we all agree both TTG and PPG 2016 have crashed and burned and especially if you can compare it to how Disney is handling the promotion of the Ducktales Reboot and it will be a success like Samurai Jack compared to TTG and PPG which are bombs and we know it.

So what do you guys think, will Ducktales fly or crash and burn?

I couldn't agree more about how CN treats it's reboots and it's shows in general. As for the Ducktales reboot. I can't say I was a fan of the show, not that it was bad, but I didn't really care for it that much. However, I will say it looks promesing and I did like the opening theme. So it's nice to see they kept the song close to the original, with just a modern touch up and what not.

So far it looks promising and highly unlikely to be a flop like that garbage known as TTG (Yuck, just typing that name makes me sick...) with PPG'16 not too far behind. So to put it short, I think it will fly high. It may not be what everyone remembers, but I believe it will be a fun trip from the past.

CN can learn a lot, both Nick and CN are former shells of the titans they use to be...

Mhm, I think Ducktales will do great and be an example of what a good reboot can be. I just hope they think about reboot some of the older cartoons like Gargoyles and Darkwing Duck in the future.

I think Cartoon Network is really shitting itself with some alright, stupid, adequate, acceptable and generally not engaging reboots but Pokémon Sun and Moon is the only exception in my eyes with Teen Titans GO being mediocre at best but not to cringe-worthy to sink it altogether.

I'm not too fond with how Powerpuff Girls turned out, it's just not that much fun to watch anymore since the humor was too much of the focus in the show and it also toned down the action way too much for my taste and from what I've seen along with a few bits from TTG, I've no intention of seeing any other reboots by any means.

Now, Ducktales, that's a reboot I would DIE to see along with Samurai Jack. The new theme is done brilliantly and I was surprised that they've stuck to the original melody but gave it a new pitch and a new beat and the shorts are really comical (and Donald being trolled, oh god, imagine somebody showing the short to him at the parks and his reaction from it). The animation's not too bad, it looks find and the Sonic reference in the opening with Scrooge, that's really something. Somehow, the gang looked more modern in a sense but still keeping to their original flare.

Disney's really pulling out all the stops for this one and just as they learned from their rival television company from their mixed results with their own reboots, Cartoon Network should really be taking notes here on how to make better reboots of their older shows 'cause Ducktales is an example of how a reboot should be done RIGHT, even to the tiniest details that makes the show so memorable when it was first launched in 1987.

Actually Pokemon Sun and Moon is on Disney XD, CN lost the broadcast rights for Pokemon last year and Pokemon has been airing on Disney for a while now

But Disney is doing a major service to it's fan and it's kinda ironic that there is a 30 year span between the release of both shows

I see.....

Really, a 30-year span between Ducktales and Pokémon's TV debuts? That's interesting and it really is pretty ironic now that I think about it with Ducktales first coming out in '87 and Pokémon (in America as well as Japan) in '97/'98.

I was referring the span between the original Ducktales and the reboot not Pokemon but there is a 10 year span between Ducktales and Pokemon

I think the Powerpuff 2016 is alright, not good, not bad, just alright.

I honestly really love the new theme and the designs for Louie and Webby. Only issue is that the YouTube version of the theme, the lyrics are a bit harder to hear.

I don't know about TTG crashing and burning

It's a pretty popular show, and attracts a pretty big audience *nods*

Not to mention, it's gotten quite a few seasons and has a lot of rerun re-watch-ability and it's really funny ^^

But yeah, PPG is on its way out. They focused too much on humor, which would have been fine if it was actually funny.

Oh, and I'm hyped for these Duck Tales ^^ Was one of my fave shows as a kid.

Gotta say, they do seem to be making a bit more focus on gags and humor, so maybe they're taking some notes of the CN reboots, too~

I don't mind TTG but we know of it's bad rep among critics and fans.

True but it doesn't mean for Cartoon Network to spam the channel of it's re-runs majority of the time.

That is very true. Still I did enjoy Mojo as he was my favorite villain of the original series.

Same here ^.^

Maybe but I think they'll focus on a seasonal plot like how Gravity falls did while being humorous and being it's own thing.

Just got to wait and see ^^

The humor I've seen so far from the shorts is a little flat, like making Scrooge a super cheapskate on the level of Mr. Krabs.

But the action/adventure elements seem spot on to me

I think it has a pretty good chance to fly. From what I've seen, it keeps the elements we liked in the original DuckTales while throwing in new ideas. That's how a reboot is done.

I think the best shot at a reboot CN had (I'm not counting Samurai Jack since that was a continuation) was the ThunderCats reboot a few years ago. It was pretty interesting and had a gripping story that organically introduced familiar characters to the newer audience.

Dracoknight545 In reply to Crocodile-Kuro [2017-06-15 01:51:37 +0000 UTC]

I think so too, we already have some familiar elements being presented here. So I'm looking forward to it

Mhm, I remember there is a rumor that it might get picked up by Netflix

The ThunderCats reboot? Just the series thus far or as a continuation?

No clue, all I heard that Netflix might pick up the reboot

Chances are it's just the first 26 episodes, then. There were plans to have it be two seasons, totaling 52 episodes, but the series was cancelled by CN after the first season.

If Netflix decided to continue with the second season, I'd be fine with it. The creators had some pretty good ideas set up for the second season.

If they did, it'd need to be better than what the CN people did almost 5 years ago.
