Description
Dear gowd… Let me start by begging for forgiveness, this piece is late… BEYOND LATE; and for the life of me even the truth makes for a flimsy excuse. It is late and I’m so very very sorry.Exchange Jam piece for *Arcticfox98
That aside I must say I had a grand time with this! I was more than a little bit surprised when it turned out that the character I got was actually based on an Australian parrot! The Northern Rosella to be exact
Regarding the branch, ^^: I’ma gonna blame that on my local wildlife, the Naso red-tail black cockatoos here chew all the honky nuts (basically big gum nuts) into interesting shapes before dropping them on our roof. I figured they could be an Aussie alternative to a Halloween pumpkin (even if they are only golf ball sized) which was part of the overall them for this event too. Odd little twist I know… but there they are, Honky nut lanterns lighting up the night sky.
The Prompts I ended up using where…
Curiosity/Magical
Snow/Cold
And
Night-time
Oh... Btw, I put the Southern Cross in there if you can find it... but I'm pretty sure the random star field detracts from it.
ENJOY
Character (Vencercus) belongs to *Arcticfox98
And Art is copyright me

Oh wow! That is superb! Thank you very much for this, you have drawn him so well I love the way you've drawn his wings, they look gorgeous and all of the colours are amazing and suite the image well! That was a smart idea making the gum nuts like jack o'lanterns
and the yellow tailed black cockatoo's do that down at our place (naughty little things
) thank you again c: and I never mind waiting for artwork because you get images like these which are worth the wait

I had a lot of fun with him. He was a very colourful character to work with (most parrots are, which can make coming up with a bg interesting)
XD Yes, very naught and crazy cockatoos, they are beautiful birds all the same.
Although honky nuts on the tin roof at any time before 8am can take some getting used to thanks for being so understanding. I'm not usually so late.

(btw that naught was meant to be naughty, apparently my fingers left of the 'y' for some demented reason) I will admit I would LOVE to get my hands on one of their discarded tail feathers one day, so I'll be waiting them out and checking the garden every now and then, just in case.
I have learned a degree patience as well. Although some days I get a little anxious too

Aw, so many colours I now feel like an idiot, as I tried to do something really colourful for my EJ exchange, and I didn't do it too well.

aw No need to feel like an idiot. Colourful has many different variations. I'm happy that you appreciate my work though. Making it colourful was a smidge easy given the character was already colourful
although getting the BG to balance out and not 'swallow' those primary feathers was a challenge.

*purrr* thankies Megs, I had so much fun with it. I'm almost glad it ate up the last of my GoG time... although I'll feel ubber guilty about not finishing any GoG entries in the morning... curse my fickle muse. The only thing about this piece I don't like is how stupidly long it took me.

You're welcome and of course I did, I loved it. Sometimes my memory is too short for my own good though, thinking about things and forgetting them in the next second, bah.
