An edited pic of my butterfly koi Nellie. I finally took a picture good enough to show her flowing fins…The name popped into my head because this picture makes my kind of sad and because some people get fish and just think they can plop them in a tiny bowl and hope they’ll survive. Most ‘goldie bowl’ fish end up dying early or being forgotten hence the name shadow so make sure you do some research before buying a koi they are tougher to take care of than you think!
If you have a koi and don't know much about them I really suggest you learn. /rant
Ok enough with the splurge, I wanted to make a meaningful piece of artwork.

Nice koi. I completely agree with the fact that people should do a little research before getting a pet, even if it is just a goldfish. Will you have time to feed them and clean their bowl? Unfortunately, I've had to discourage way too many people from getting koi because they only want them for decoration. Not many people realize that there is upkeep involved (lots of food, proper filtration, pond skimming and maintainence, etc.).

Everyone seems to think you can stick em in a bowl and be done! O.o Seriously its a living animal there's more to it than just leaving it there and not giving any attention to it.
I *heart* my koi, if anything ever happened to them I would be very depressed.
