The LRTIS, or Long Range Taser for Incapacitating Suspects was designed in 2003 by Adolf Rictor as a more effective way for law enforcement officers to neutralize threats in a non-lethal manner without having to get close. After numerous tests and trials, the LRTIS was approved for use by law enforcement. The round comprises of a two-prong dart in the front, a high-voltage battery behind it, a hard plastic case to hold it all together, and a brass case containing the propellant. The LRTIS is used widely by both Draconian civilian military police and the presidential guard.
