Description
A large invertebrate organism that inhabits the dark recesses of the Earth Region. Shadow Wyrms are the only Rahi on Okoto that have harnessed their elemental powers, making them a very dangerous species. They are adept at tunneling thanks to their huge tusk-like protrusions and strong digging claws, and are often responsible for the collapse of cavern settlements. They can also leap incredible distances, which although not very useful far underground enables them surprising levels of maneuverability in more open spaces.

They wield both the elemental energies of Earth and Shadow, able to cause tremors when they are in sufficient numbers as well as seemingly disappear into the blackness of the darker depths. How and why such a techno-organism evolved remains unknown to even the brightest of the Ice Tribe. At one point Terry, his young son and several other Earth Villagers bore witness to a great battle between an out-of-place being of Light and a whole pack of Shadow Wyrms near the Core of Okoto. The being struggled at first, but quickly gained the upper hand and reduced the Wyrms to light particles which filtered out of the cavern and into the sunlight of the world above. Just as soon as he appeared, the mysterious being vanished...
